Default Best 2014 option for this season

Of the 2014 draft, which guys will get the best production for this season?
How much points can you see them getting?

    Bennett
    Reinhart
    Draisailt
    Kapaen
    Nylander
    Ehlers
    Dal Colle

Draisailt is your best option here, the Oilers need him so it's likely he plays this season. The others will probably get a few 9 game stints but probably won't do much this season.

Yup - it's still real early but all reports point to Draisaitl and Reinhart as the two most likely recent draftees to make their NHL squad.

I like Draisaitl more since his spot to lose is in between Yakupov and Perron.

Another vote for Draisaitl since there's a spot waiting for him. He also has the size to step in right away without being physically overwhelmed.

Not to hijack but how many games do you see for Reinhart? I'm torn with him on Buffalo, they won't compete this year so why rush him? Especially if they are looking to tank and get McDavid? On the other hand maybe they say "we're going to suck anyway", and get him the experience?

Not sure Draisaitl is guaranteed that #2 C role, but he's got a shot and I like him best from that listed crew.

I could see them being extra cautious after the Grigorenko debacle and I don't think experience on a crappy team is all that useful, see: Oilers, Edmonton.

I would be surprised if any of those players listed breaks 20 points next year. I think the only one that has a chance to play is Draisaitl. I would not be surprised to see him stick for more than 9 games, but I doubt that he will be contributing much offensively this season.

If you are looking for points this year, look elsewhere.

Reinhart and Draisaitl are probably the only two who will make it past the 9 game mark.

As far as production goes, even though I am an Oilers fan, I can see Reinhart out producing Draisaitl by a little bit. He was the most NHL ready forward heading into the draft and I don't think much has changed through out the summer. I wouldn't expect huge numbers from either of them, probably in the 30-35pt range.

If Draisaitl can maintain the #2C position, he should be able to put up the most points.

There's no underestimating Bennett or Reinhart either. Most people don't mention Bennett, but he could very well end up staying with Calgary and putting up decent numbers.

I don't see Bennett sticking around this year. With Monahan, Backlund, Stajan pretty well entrenched as their 1-2-3 down the middle, unless they want the kid playing 8-9 minutes a night on that 4th line, I think he will do better in another year of Jr. That or they plan on moving him to the wing. Then things could change for him but I am dubious that happens.

Draisaitl and Reinhart will be in the best situations to play, but the Oil should have the better team, and Draisaitl should be able to score a bit more because of it.

Draisaitl & Reinhart are your guys this year. Beyond this season I feel Kapanen and Dal Colle will be strong plays in part because of the talent that surrounds them
