League restart. Who to take at #3.

With those stats I'm changing to Malkin.

In a ROTO league with standard Yahoo categories (G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, SOG) I would definitely be taking Ovechkin at #3. He's a very reliable (read: healthy) superstar who is going to give you stud #s in Goals, PPP, SOG, with good production in the remaining categories. People have really soured on Oven Chicken, but I'm not really sure why. Could be age? I'm not buying it, though. I'd take Ovechkin over JT or Giroux any day of the week.

Totally agree. He was an absolute beast in what people are calling his "down year". If hes still one of the best options going- just imagine what he can do with a real coach and linemates not named Jason Beagle. His value is so drastically low right now- Ill be throwing the kitchen sink at AO owners this year...

I think Ovie is the better by a slight margin today. But he has started his gradual decline.

I would take Tavares and enjoy the ride into his prime rather than hold onto whatever Ovie has left in the tank.

I think the choice has to be Malkin here. People like to dwell on his injuries lately but it was as little as three seasons ago that he led the league with 109 points! He still managed 72 points while missing 22 games last season -- good for 15th overall. Add his +10 and 30 PPP -- I dunno, I'd be picking Malkin at 3rd.

The lack of PIM and hits makes me think Tavares is your guy. Maybe Malkin but he's older.

Tavares for me. He's poised to enter true elite status and lock in at a top 3 spot this year... And the islanders still have a ton of room to grow.

JT or Malkin would be my considerations...If I thought I was going to contend for money in the first 3-4years I'd take Malkin. If I planned to finish low and do well on a few drafts before contending I'd take JT

I would be looking at Tavares here. Malklin may be the better pick but i would not want to always wonder about when the next injury is coming... and I would like to see what Ovie would do in a new system (plus i am not a fan there)

JT or Malkin for me too. I wouldn't take OV over either of them in a non-hits league.

OV is my choice here with Malkin close behind. OV is a power play monster and has proven to be more healthy then Malkin...

Malkin for me, but with how he's fallen I'd look to make a move with the guy @ 5 or 6 and take him or Seguin.
