    Default I think I should consider Hornqvist...yes?

    Hey all,

Looking at my defence, I think I am good now, addeded (Shatty, Green and Fowler) in the offseason, Goalies are looking strong too, might add a third in Gibson, if I can.

I have the 4th overall pick in this years draft (our draft contains rookies that have at least played 1 NHL game last year)

This is the top 5 IMO

    Mackinnon
    Nichuskin
    Barkov (I have Hub)
    Trouba
    Maatta

    I clearly won't get the top 2
For some reason, Hornqvist is a FA, does he bring more value to me this year albeit at a higher salary than say Barkov?
Given my current state, do I take Hornqvist over the lot? Even though D is so hard to come by..and Trouba is a star?

    TIA

Definitely more value this year, but long term I would bet Barkov will be the best of the two.

I'd take Barkov or Trouba ahead of Hornqvist for sure.

Trouba could arguably turn into your #1 D as soon as this year.

Of the 5 you listed I'd only take Hornqvist ahead of Maatta.

I have to agree with everyone above. while Hornqvist is JUICY, Trouba is a stud and if Barkov/Nichuskin slip to you, you're laughing. Hey, you might even be able to scoop up Hornqvist later on.
