    Default Player Predictions / Recommendations

So I have a bit of a strange/bold strategy when it comes to drafting. To put it very simply, I try to draft a home run with every pick. I basically go for the player that has the potential to be the best fantasy player, even if it comes with a lot of risk. I go for the Gaboriks and the Letangs, but I'll never draft a Justin Williams or Johan Franzen. That being said, does anyone have any late round suggestions of players that could become monsters, even if it is very risky (for ex, in many mock drafts, I took Dupuis with my last pick just in the off-chance he gets time back on the Crosby line). I figure I can replace through FA the guys who bust. It's a but hit and miss but its exciting and fun so who cares.

There are also some players that I am having a lot of difficulty predicting, so I was wondering if y'all could give some predictions and maybe even some stat predictions for any or all of the following players (while keeping in mind my 'strategy' above). Really just looking for which players you think will be a steal for where they are likely to be drafted:

    Kunitz
    Zetterberg
    Duchene
    Neal
    MacKinnon
    D. Sedin
    E. Kane
    Gaborik
    Skinner
    Johanson
    Stastny
    Hedmen
    Giordano
    Hornqvist
    Lupul
    Mason
    Semin
    RNH
    Gibson
    Vrbata
    Yakupov
    Ehrhoff
    Burns
    Markov
    Seabrook
    Phaneuf
    Barrie
    Dupuis
    E. Johnson
    J. Shultz
    Sekera
    Josi
    Edler
    B. Richards

I know thats a crazy list of names but thanks for any help

Kunitz- will be overdrafted- team dependant.
    Zetterberg- Yes!!!
Duchene- Overdraft- will lose time too...
MacKinnon- Jesus christ yes! Is he top tier? No. But he can there! Great value.
Neal- He'll be good- but not the homerun you're looking for.
    D. Sedin- Much better than last year. Torts f'd the Sedins. Draft later (5-8) for a steal.
    E. Kane- Read my article
Gaborik- Good value pick- will be a dropper. Not a franchise guy- but a nice swing for the fences in the lower rounds.
Skinner- He is a league lkeader in sogs/60- and looks to have his first real look on pp1 this year. If he can shake concussion issues- hes primed for a monster season- invest!
Johanson- Does this mean RJ? Hes a buy- dont expect a big shift upwards- but where hes at is pretty beastly.
Stastny- Risk factor- pass first player, competition for time. Good depth pick but dont reach.
Hedmen- reach for. Hes Chara at the beginning of his career.
Giordano- Much like. Late bloomer- but still very safe- even on a shit team.
    Hornqvist- Buy!! Buy!! Buy!!
Lupul- Will be a slider- good to keep an eye on though! Can get very cheap.
    Mason- Yuck.
Semin- Injured to start- likely miss 10-20iish games. Dony underrate though. Can likely get dirt cheap when the season starts buit his ppg pace is through the roof.
RNH- So underrated imho. His +/- will suck- but expecting a big/statement season.
Gibson- Like- but dont underestimate fredrick.
Vrbata- Solid option- nice sogs- goals-not a great keeper though.
Yakupov- "Buy" but dont expect more than 50ish this seasoon.
Ehrhoff- "Buy" but he can be a total flop with the depth there. Great investment but lower down your d-man list.
Burns- Like more than most. Its BB time in SJ- bank it.
    Markov- Yuck.
Seabrook- Dont know lots about this guy- just being honest.
Phaneuf- Always underrated in roto- but as a leafs fan I hate drafting leafs :P
    Barrie- Buy!
    Dupuis- Great late round sleeper.
    E. Johnson- Not high end- but a decent 3-5 d-man in most formats. Hes progressively gotten more solid. A safe- un-spectacular pick.
    J. Shultz- Grinding teeth... ok- when you're ready to gamble.
    Sekera- Meh.
Josi- Not great keeper potential but fantastic value in a 1 year or non-keeper role. Targetting this guy.
Edler- Big name- low value for now. Can bring it back but need some proof.
    B. Richards- Judgement call. Im saying "**** that". But maybe thats just me :P

Wow thanks, i think we share a lot of the same views. I think I agree with E Johnson that he's a bit too safe for what im looking for.
I'm thinking that Hornqvist has the potential to be a Neal, ie a top 20 fantasy player. Might reach for him a bit in the 6th-8th

I totally agree and just paid a premium for Hornqvist. It goes way deeper than the Pittsburgh effect or the sleeper tag. The underlying numbers supported a decent step forward on ANY other team. I think he will be a BEAST in Pitt.

Heater!! If he can stick on the Getzlaf-Perry line then there's a chance he actually puts up some solid numbers.

RNH, Yakupov and Hornquist strike me as the biggest gambles (higher risk but high reward)

I disagree. Heatley just doesn't have it any more. I'm sure theyll try him on the line for a couple shifts and he'll hold them back. He couldn't produce with Koivu and Parise so I'm not hopeful.
