    Default Hamilton vs Gardiner

Hamilton or Gardiner for this year and more importantly 2-3 beyond. Who has the superior offensive upside? Would you keep both and try to move Shattenkirk?

That's a tough one ... I think Shattenirk is the best option this year and probably next but the 2 kids should be better than him in 3years
    12 teams keeper league (keep 6 + 1 rookie) H2H points only

Rookie = less than 23 years old and never reached 60pts for a forward / 40 pts for a D

    Start : C RW LW S D D G
    Points are : A/G = 1 pt W = 2 pts SO = 1pt

    C - Seguin Giroux Stepan
LW - Huberdeau (R) Parise Tlusty
RW - Eberle Hornqwist Hemsky Scheifele
D - Schultz Gardiner Goligoski Brodie Sekera Zidlicky
G - Fleury Crawford Raanta Greiss

Whoever said, 'It's not whether you win or lose that counts,' probably lost.

Shattenkirk is the proven thing, the Gardiner hype is bordering on ridiculous this offseason, I don't think he'll live up to half it

It is quite the hype.. I think worth a chance late... In a 14 team I'd take him in about the 13th round or so and let others reach if they want to.. Stay with shats and Hamilton IMO.

Keep hamilton and Shattenkirk, imo Gardiner is one of the most overrated prospects around. But that's just my opinion.

Gardiner isn't a prospect at this point, he's produced in the NHL quite admirably in the limited opportunities he's seen over the past couple seasons. Gardiner is the best possession driver the Leafs have, and I'd expect lots of ice-time this upcoming year. Don't go crazy and expect 45+ points, but he definitely provides value in the later rounds of the draft -- and a potential steal.

I would keep Shat and Gardiner. I just don't see Hamilton having his offensive opportunities maximized in Boston anytime soon.

same. 100%. I don't buy the JG hype. Reilly will be the man in 2 years IMO.
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.

Yes, Rielly is a future #1 D. In terms of pure offensive talent (not potential) Gardiner is up with the best of them. His offensive prowess is no longer hype. But it's his defensive frailties that get him in trouble. Gardiner will get decent PP time, but has to share with Phaneuf, Franson and Rielly. You need to judge how much offensive potential Hamilton has and if Boston will put Hamilton on PP1 when Chara moves on (Krug seems to have locked up that spot).

Definitely keep Shatt. If you are a contender, Gardiner would be a safer choice this year I think.

Shattenkirk is a given. And Hamilton over Gardiner 10x out of 10 in a keeper. Dougie will be a Pietrangelo clone within 2 seasons. Book it. Gardiner will show flashes and end up in his coach's doghouse at times for taking dangerous risks. He also has Rielly, Phaneuf and Franson in the mix, not to mention Finn soon. Morgan Rielly will end up the stud producer on that Leafs blue line.
