Default Grabbing My Future Corner Stone Player

    Hey all,

So I'm in the middle of a new dynasty keeper league draft and am coming up on my pick. Right now, we are early enough in the draft that most young budding stars are still available. Some of the more recently successful ones have been picked up; MacKinnon, Johansen, Nichushkin to name a few. Douin also scooped up despite having not proven as much as the others, but based on his potential. I've decided with my next pick I wanted to grab a player who would be that nice blue-chip prospect to build around. I don't want a dman, as I know that a good one will fall to me next pick, but I am hoping to lock down a talented young forward.

There are two streams of players - some NHL experience, some strictly minor league experience. I am not going to differentiate on the two for this pick, but pick the player that I think can help me the most in a few years down the road. That player who is a producer and IF he contributes in hits and other peripherals, all the better.

I've come up with a short (enough) list of the players that interest me the most and would like to know who you see as the top 3 (in specific order). I would like if you could include a little blurp on how you see this player in a few seasons.

The league's stats are G A PTS PIM SOG PPP SHP Hit Blk FOW, but I do not put immense weight in FOW, so C does not get a distinct advantage in this selection.

    Evgeny Kuznetsov
    Ryan Strome
    Tyler Toffoli
    Nikita Kucherov
    Teuvo Teräväinen*
    Sam Bennett
    Leon Draisaitl
    Anthony Mantha
    Vladamir Tarasenko
    Aleksander Barkov
    Jonathan Huberdeau
    Sean Monahan
    Gustav Nyquist

    Jacob Trouba
    Seth Jones
    Darnell Nurse
    Ryan Murray

You're help is much appreciated guys. Just looking for some thoughts and feedback on who dobberites think would be a great (or the best!) add in a dynasty keeper.

EDIT: Turris, Scheifele and Granlund also available right now.

Man so many good options- i think I like Kuznetzov.

Tough though and itll be easy to get this one wrong- lol! I really like Draisaitl and bennett too (probably Bennet more long term)- but its hard to pass on guys with some NHL experience like Kuz, hub, Barkov and even Strome.

Ill go Kuzentzov but its such a crap shoot- lol!!

I should also add that the likes of Turris, Scheifele, and Grandlund are still available as well.

Really high on Barkov here for his ability to the centre position well beyond his years (the youth and upside of this team is a great plus)

Also, Draisaitl might be a great choice as he has the size to develop into a dominant centre that has Yakupov sniping goals on his wing. This could be a good time to snag him while others are starting to sour on the Edmonton powerhouse fantasy "potential" that is to be achieved

Granlund is the best option here. Kuz should do well in Washington, and long term Monahan/Bennett will be really good. But Granlund is already there, and Minny is ok spending money on offence.

Is Yakupov or Galchenyuk still available also ? I'd take Yakupov over everybody there.

Anywho, given the name you've given I'd go :

    1-Huberdeau
    2-Barkov
    3-Jones/Bennett If you don't want a D.

If this is a cap league then Turris is gold. $3.5M x 4 years for a first line center is a huge win. HUGE

Aleksander Barkov if you can wait a little bit. Pretty easy choice for me tbh. He is by far the safest bet. Stay away from Hubs. Next pick would be Draisaitl for me.
