Default Simon Gagne trying out for Bruins

Sort of random, I wonder if this has anything to do with the Bruins needing to shed cap?

I thought he retired five years ago. How old is he, eighty?

Only 34. Crazy to think that and how far he has fallen. He was what 22 or something when he made the Olympic team in 2002? Wild.

Long shot to make the team, I'd think.

Especially with his history of injuries. Boston must be really desperate. Oh wait, they are! Damn salary cap!

His body and brain is 80. Doubt he makes the team. Another promising talent cut short by the concussion.

Hey, the Bruins are shy on the RW and he will probably play for peanuts. Why not give him a look?

I think they'll give him that look at training camp and notice he's not 2005 Simon Gagne. They'll likely notice that he's a much slower version with a shot that is much less effective than it once was. If that's the case, he's not in the top six. And who wants an aging, slow, ex-scoring forward playing in their bottom six? My guess is that he retires after camp. If he ACTUALLY makes the team, it's likely a third line role, but I just don't see it.

Most likely they will end up promoting from within but nothing wrong with giving someone a chance to show his stuff.
