    Default Which fowards to take

For a salary cap keeper league where you get 1 point per goal and assist and 5 points for a hatrick, which fowards should I take or rate the points for the following players,

    Marleau
    Turris
    Simmonds
    Kuznetsov
    Oshie
    Backes
    Voracek

    Pure points (incl. salary considerations):

    Three TIERS, IMO:

1a. Kuznetsov. Lots of potential with young RFA status contract to stay relatively low.
    1b. Turris. Simply an incredible bang-for-your-buck. 60pt player @ $4m.
    ...
    3. Voracek. Potential for 70pts, though only 2yrs left @ $4.25m. If he touches 70pts, he'll also be looking at a $6m-$7m deal in the future. WIN/LOSE.
    4. Oshie. ~60pt player @ $4.2m for 3 more years.
    5. Simmonds. 55pt player @ $4m for 5 years.
    ...
    6. Backes. 55pt player for next two years @ $4.5. Likely looking at a $7m contract in summer 2016 purely due to his two-way game & leadership, won't be good for points-salary.
    7. Marleau. $6.7m just too much for aging player, even if he might still put up 67pts.

Good ballpark for value in cap leagues is 10pts per $1m.
You want to get more than 10pts per $1m out of your players.

I'd be all over Turris and Voracek myself.

I like Turris and Voracek, but Kuznetsov may surprise a lot of people by scoring around 60 pts this year alongside Ovechkin, and at $900, 000 is a pretty damn good deal. That will change after this season when he is RFA, but he should turn out to be a real bargain this year.

    Bottleneckers (12/16 in 2022)
    16 team, points only. G: 2-W, 4-SO.
    Top 9F, 4D & 1G . Keep 15, Max 23
F: J. Robertson, J. Hughes, Tavares, Lafreniere, Cozens, Newhook, Teravainen, Domi, R. Strome, Laine, Rossi, Raymond, Holtz, Perfetti
    D: Bouchard, McAvoy, Morrissey, Heiskanen
    G: Vasilevskiy

I'm not convinced Kuznetsov is going to be skating on a line with Ovechkin. If he can make the top PP unit then I think 60 is possible regardless but I'm not calling that pairing an automatic just yet.
