I don't see where he's going to fit. They already have lots of forwards. With this being two-way, I'd say AHL is likely destination.

Two way contract makes this a bit easier to swallow.

Not quite the fantasy landing spot I was hoping for. Way too many guys in his way.

Why the hell are the Blues signing him? Are they really that desperate to ice a 5th line? I like Mueller, but landing in St. Louis is not exactly an ideal spot for him.

I think they expect him to play in the AHL but are willing to give him a shot at an NHL job.

This is like them signing Morrow last year - I get that there is no such thing as too much depth, but I just don't see Mueller being anything more than an injury replacement.

I don't see why the Blues signing him with their depth, but if the $$ is right he's worth a short I guess.

I think he could have found a better destination, but maybe the offers weren't coming.

Some other team with more opportunity had to throw him an offer. Or send his agent out. Dallas? Edm? Calgary? Van? Unless he'd rather be in a winning organization in the AHL.

With his history, I think this may have been exactly it.. But the Blues are a good organization and I could see why he'd want to go there and maybe, just maybe, be a contributing piece on a good team and not have to be too relied upon, like he would be on other teams. He knows his own history too and is probably wary of it. I would probably be at this point in my career if I was him... Maybe his agent is whispering this to him as decent advice. A lot goes into these choices sometimes..

Pretty awful when John Scott signed weeks ago, while a guy like Mueller had to wait a month before getting some bottom feeder two-way contract.

In fairness, I don't think anybody has any idea what is happening with the Sharks, including Doug Wilson.
