    Default Bozak vs. Couturier

    Hey boys,

Just wanted some feedback regarding these two. Need to go with one as my final centreman keeper. Categories listed below.

Thinking that Couturier has more long-term upside over Bozak, but thought I'd fish out some opinions.

I think I like Bozak more, at least short-term. So far Kadri's shown that he doesn't fit on the top line, making Bozak the de-facto number 1 guy. I don't see anyone else on the leafs taking that role in the near future and they probably don't have the assets to acquire a true #1. Couturier's probably too good as a shut-down guy to really hit his potential offensively. Although I do think he's the better player and probably has the higher upside.

It should be Bozak. He's the default 1st liner on his team and actually produces like he deserves to be there. Couturier is too buried on the depth chart and with tough assignments to really flourish points-wise.

Couturier looks like he's getting Jordan Staal'd --> Too good defensively to ever be really used in an offensive role.

Bozak, whatever you might think of him, is nothing if not consistent:

    2011-12: 0.644 Points/Game
    2012-13: 0.609 Points/Game
    2013-14: 0.845 Points/Game (Bozak overacheived last year, should regress to 0.6 to 0.7 Points/Game)

    I'll take Bozak.

I'm taking Bozak too here. Should get first line duties in general.

Th obvious answer is Bozak until the Leafs sign Stamkos. But until then go with Bozak.

    Haha

With sarcasm out of the way. I would still go with Bozak. People say Bozak is short term answer but is Couturier the long term answer? He will always have Giroux in front of him and maybe Vinny/schenn. I'll take Bozak short term and gamble with Bozak long term. I think the short term will balance out in the end.

Bozak easily, no need to even read through the thread. Cheers.
