Hard to believe Gleason was making 4 million before that. Is it possible that Bellemore was signed to play in the NHL and just for injury callup otherwise?

One year, two-way deal worth $0.6 million at NHL level.
This is a guy who outplayed Tim Gleason last season while they played on the same team. Carolina did not qualify Bellemore letting him become UFA. They brought Gleason back early July with a contract paying him twice more than Bellemore got. Weird situation. I would have thought Bellemore could have atleast gotten one-way deal from somewhere. He's a big guy (6'4, 225 lbs) that I thought played a good season. Much better signing for Carolina than bringing back Gleason for twice the money.

Well the two-way nature of the deal suggest he's an injury callup option for them. He's waiver eligible but since he made it this far in the offseason and didn't got a one-way deal, the chances of him getting claimed aren't high. Carolina already has these guys under contract:
Faulk-Sekera
Hainsey-Murphy
Liles-Harrison
Gleason
So it looks like he either stays in as the 8th D-man or like said goes to AHL and be an injury callup.

Tough break for Bellemore, surprised he couldn't get a one-way from someone. I like him in deep leagues, he has some Gudas-lite potential.

Good signing, he's the only one on the team who stands up for his teammates/goalie, besides ol' man Gleason (LOL)
