That deal makes him easily moveable. Think he made the deal knowing/promised that he would be moved?

Does this look more like he'll tough it out in TO, or is it even more likely that he'll move now? Or does this signing indicate nothing at all?

With the oversaturated goalie market, I don't think Leafs can make such a promise nor would they. They couldn't get full value right now when all jobs around the league are already filled.

This deal takes Reimer straight to UFA-status while paying him $4.6 million. He would have been fool not to take it even if it's to stay in Toronto as a backup.

He did sell them one UFA year so obviously he has to be ready to stay in Toronto for two years. If he really wanted out, he could have just taken the qualifying offer and play out that one season. I don't think this makes a move likely - atleast not now.

Toronto did right by him here a bit. He is both easily moveable if he doesn't want to be patient - or he can be patient for two more years and then pick his team.

Good for Reimer - kinda questionable move by Toronto. Then again, since it takes him right to the beginning of his UFA period, I assume it doesn't include any kind of No Movement/No Trade clause.

The second year is UFA year but for the sake of Leafs, I hope Shanahan's regime isn't throwing out NMC's/NTC's to a backup goalie.

I think a team that wants a 1A/1B fight would take Riemer. Or also Winnipeg but apparently they only keep the same players every year so I doubt they would trade for him.
I swear I heard that he did ask for a trade, but Nonis wanted to keep him for the season and try to move him at the deadline if he was to move him. I think they will wait to see if a goalie faulters or gets hurt and dangle Riemer that way. I just don't see him a Maple Leaf in 2015/16
I am just surprised it is two years instead of one. As you guys wrote, one year is a UFA year

They did try to move him but apparently the offers were shit. For the price, Bernier and Riemer might be one of the best tandems in the league. For the price.

and then you factor in phaneuf and our tandem pretty much turns into toskala/raycroft.

As a Bernier owner I don't really like having this guy breathing down his neck night in and night out. I think Bernier is unreal and will still be fine, but it's gotta be kind of unnerving for him.

Not a bad signing for the Leafs. It's a contract that could also be moved if a team wanted to take a chance on him.

I'd rather have Reimer at 2.3 than Brodeur at 2-2.5
