I dont see the Jays falling below the Rays or Orioles.

Yesterday was just a typical Jays team chasing Tanaka's junk. Swinging at crap outside the zone time and time again.

Yes but this has been happening for years. I don't get how they just keep swinging away.

If Toronto can split the season series between Boston and NYY, and take care of the Orioles and Rays, they're going to be fine.

After owning Tanaka in fantasy last yr, I've seen this song and dance before. He can be lights out, then games his FB is flat and people tee off on him like it's batting practice.

Like most Non-World Series contenders, but playoff contenders, the Jays chances come down to a healthy rotation. Jays pitched great for the first series I thought. After Happ they got a plan to pitch to the big guys and shut them down. After the first game, Judge, Stanton, and Sanchez hit a combined 2/29 (0.069avg). Biggest surprise in the first 4 games for me was how well Maile called his game with Estrada.

    Something like that anyway.
And I said, "yeah, but Donaldson has always been clutch in these situations whereas Smoak has not. It's the right call by Boone."

A few pitches later and she's looking at me like - "uh huh, right call eh ?" lol

I still say it was the right call at the time.

I like the looks of Oh. Great stuff. I wonder why there wasn't more interest in that guy.
Solarte sure has lots of enthusiasm.
4+ERA last yr, only threw 59IP compared to almost 80IP the yr before. 36yrs old. Failed a physical early in FA with the Rangers.

It was also interesting to see the Chicago coach who was the "whistle blower" sit back and put the whistle away last night..

As it's not illegal to do, the league did tell them if it causes friction between 2 teams, they'll have to step in. So my guess is they stopped it for AT LEAST this series. Maybe the whole season.

I dont think it was causing any friction. Both sides seem to be having fun with it.

I think both sides did have fun with it. But Maybe it's like a "ahhh we see what this could start" and they stopped it before a team really got mad.

Like think of the "antics" the Jays have done throughout the last 2-3yrs that absolutely pissed the MLB world off. It wasn't anymore disrespectful/annoying than a whistle being blown in my eyes. MLB world is odd when it comes to this stuff.
