If the Jays aren't winning, baseball is not a fun sport to watch. I originally learnt this in the mid 90's but recently forgot.

As much as I've cursed this man the past few seasons, he's still one of the greatest Blue Jays ever. Thanks for all the good years Joey Bats.

    Bautista's final curtain call.

Thanks for the link Axe. I didn't see the game.

No doubt one of the best Blue Jay ever. He had a flair for the dramatic and helped the organization back to respectability. Lets hope they at least hang on to that.

I'll remember Jose's throw from RF to first to get Butler out on what looked like to be a for sure base hit. Edwin's face waiting for the umps call was funny.

October 14, 2015 - greatest moment in blue jays history for me (was too young to truly appreciate 92/93).

I've shat on him a lot over the last year, probably unfairly, but the man will go down as one of the all time legends here.

Funny how good of a wee bit of the a stretch they had to finish out the season.

JD led the Jays in WAR (4.9?) this yr and missed like 60 games. Since joining the Jays only Trout I think has a higher WAR. He's going to earn such a big contract.

If they can do it on a 4-5 year deal, absolutely. I also think it would be in his best interest to resign this offseason as well

If they are thinking about managing their assets properly, think about replenishing the system so that when guys like Bichette and Guerrero are ready, you are not looking at a 35 year old Donaldson on the corner with wonky knees and fading power at the plate.

No realistic fan can say this team is contending over the next 3 seasons, so signing Donaldson (for the kind of money he will command) makes zero sense.
Why can't this team contend for a WC next year? Should a major league team just say "screw it, let's wait for our kids in 2-3 years and hope they are who we think they are"? If an extension can't be done before the season, I agree on trying to move him though.

From a business side of things, it can make sense. He puts asses in seats and that's what ownership wants.

I do agree with you though that it is something they should seriously look at for the future of the franchise. He's one of their better bargaining chips and without moving someone young and under control for years, makes the most sense to move.
