With 6 teams ahead of them lol. They might as well be 20 games out.

    3.5games.

I don't think they do it, but this is the time of the yr where if they go on a streak, they CAN get in.

Here’s the series to finish the yr:
    Rays (4)
    Chicago Cubs (3)
    Rays (3)
    Twins (3)
    Boston (3)
    Orioles (4)
    Boston (3)
    Tigers (3)
    Orioles (3)
    Twins (4)
    KCR (3)
    Yankees (3)
    Boston (3)
    Yankees (3)

2 series where they don’t play someone between them and a wildcard. And only Seattle and LAA are in the wildcard race where they don’t play them.

Their chances are slim to none and slim is packing his bags, but at least I can enjoy the games knowing they could at least keep it interesting rather than losing 4 out of 6 every time.

Estrada claimed on waivers by a "mystery team" so pretty decent chance that he gets dealt soon...
I've read that it's an AL East team.

So the rumors are that the Yankees have put in a revokable claim on Estrada and John Gibbons say he isn't going anywhere because they need him.

Need him for what? So they don't finish last in the AL East?

You manage the team Gibby and let the GM deal with what the team needs and what it doesn't need. If they can get back some prospects for him, I say make the deal.

    Jon Heyman‏ @JonHeyman 3h

am hearing jays have little interest in letting go estrada, or trading him to contender, as they figure they themselves may be a contender
If Jays management thinks this, then Gibby is just echoing club mentality.

I'm just getting caught up on the Estrada news here... not sure I understand what happened. The Jays waived him?

After the non-waiver trade deadline, basically every player in the MLB goes on revocable waivers. Someone claimed Estrada, so they recalled him. Then he got lit up tonight lol. Scroll back for a better explaination of revocable waivers.

Last nights game showed how Martin is valuable. He could have picked up on things batters were doing (sitting changeup ALL NIGHT) and throw them other stuff.
