Default May the Jaden Schwartz be with you - or not?

So, picked up Jaden Schwartz last year and he was nice little surprise - not that he was under the radar but I think he was more productive than people expected in his first year.

Question is, what happens now? Presumably he is locked in for a top 6 role, but does he see PP1 time, and who will he play with?

We keep 17, so need to cut a few, and forwards on the bubble include Erikkson, Skinner, Nyquist and Schwartz (I think Clarkson is a definate dumper).

Projections on Schwartz and/or advice on whether to keep him or drop him appreciated.

Hitchcock was on record this week saying that he will mainly use pairs of forwards this year, and that Schwartz will be paired with Tarasenko to start the season.

I expect Schwartz to see a fair load of PP time, with PP1 and PP2 presences.

Always tricky to project the production of St. Louis forwards, but I think that last year should be a good indicator, with a possible regression of 5 to 10 points.

im keeping him expecting 55ish points. Barring injury that is, he played 80 games. Likely will have a similar year.

I've long maintained that Schwartz would follow a similar curve as Parise, and I still think that's about right. Look for another year in the 50-60 point range, then POP.

I think it could even be as early as this year - it all depends on Hitchcock.

Either this season or next season, Schwartz/Tarasenko are going to go off like Benn/Seguin.

    Try to act surprised.

14 keepers are bolded. I didn't bother with your defenseman as I don't know much about them with those categories. You still have room for 3 D to keep which I think is plenty. In other words: Yes, keep schwartz.

"May the Schwartz" was my team name last year after I picked up Jaden off of waivers in the first week of the season. He was arguably St Louis' best forward in many games last year and I expect him to only get better. I would guess 60 - 65 points next year and that will number will continue to grow for a couple more years before he settles in as a 70 - 75 point player for a decade or so. I am very optimistic on him as you can clearly see but his hockey sense if off the charts.

I feel dumb...but what does POP stand for?

But as a Schwartz owner I do like the sound of it...

I've said since his college days that this kid would be a Parise clone.. Mark him down for at least 60 this year, this kid has some major tools..

ps. This forward group... in a 14-team league.
You can set your roster on day 1 and not come back all year... and win the championship.

What makes him so Parise-like? Those are awfully big shoes to fill right there.

    Actually a fairly-commonly made comparison.
I've heard it at least two or three times previously.
Same body type, same pace of play with & without the puck.
It also helps when two guys wear the same number, just one extra thing that the brain draws on as a similarity.
