tanguay to me is intriguing.
he is reunited with iggy, and together they had a lot of magic.
At the same time they are old, so god knows what that brings.
I am not a fan of Read, so I would roll the dice and take the gamble.
This is for the league in my Signature:
Looking to upgrade my forward depth - I have the option to acquire Alex Tanguay for Matt Read and a throwaway pick (third rounder, 2016).
Read's numbers the past three seasons:
2013-14: 1.66 FP/G - 124.34 FP Total
2012-13: 1.70 FP/G - 71.38 FP Total
2011-12: 1.95 FP/G - 153.94 FP Total
Tanguary's numbers the past three seasons:
2013-14: 1.88 FP/G - 30.12 FP Total
2012-13: 1.83 FP/G - 73.06 FP Total
2011-12: 1.94 FP/G - 124.40 FP Total
Is Tanguay worth the time and trouble? He would be my 17th forward, which is the bottom forward on the team, assuming Yak, Hubs, and Galchenyuk have a better year this year than last.

I'd rather have Matt Read, he's got a better shot of playing beside Giroux than Tanguay has of lasting 40 games without a major injury.

I think the pick (even if its a throw away) should be going with Tanguay and even then, I am not sure I would make this deal for him.
Keep Read.

Tough call.
Tanguay is going to be a dynamite sleeper in most leagues next year.
But... I wouldn't trade for him.
Keep Read.
Tanguay will probably be injured by H2H playoffs anyways.
If Tanguay stayed healthy (somehow) he would certainly exceed 50 points. On the high octane Avs offense he'll get 50+ if he plays 65+ games (big if), as he'll be on either Duchene or MacKinnon's wing. Matt Read is a decent depth player but he is 28 years old and has a whopping 47 points for a career high.
The way I look at it is you could keep Read and hope to count on him for 45-50 points or roll the dice with Tanguay and ride him until he's injured and pick someone else up or make a trade at that point. In the points per game category you have to like Tanguay.
I'm still leaning to Read for the security but it's close.
I would have a tough time trading for a player who frequently misses so many games. On the other hand, Read, at 28 years old, is not a prospect and has probably shown us his maximum point totals (give or take a few). For this dilemma, I suggest doing nothing will not hurt you. Keep Read.
Going with Read is boring. Maybe it's smart, but it's boring.
Swing big and go with Tanguay.
