next 2 years, definitely scheifele. beyond that it's close - they'll both be really good, but monahan is gonna be in a 1-1a kinda thing with bennett, and scheifele is the clear cut number 1 in winnipeg.

I guess count me on the Monahan side. Little is still the #1 in Winnipeg and will be for at least a few more years. And just generally not a fan of Scheifele, or the fact that he's missed about 20 games a season each of the last 3 years.

Tough call. Monahan is a better player but Scheifele has better teammates around him. Last season for example, Monahan had 34 points in 75 games, Scheifele had 34 points in 63 games. Monahan played mostly with guys like Baertschi, Hudler and Colborne. Scheifele played with guys like Kane, Wheeler, Setoguchi etc. Also, Monahan is 19, Scheifele is 21, so the fact he had the same amount of points in only ten more games with all things considered is quite a feat.
I'll take Scheifele as a safer bet, but don't be surprised if Monahan is the better of the two in the next two years.

this is my thoughts as well regarding MS's spot in the lineup. its almost like Spezza / Turris was the past couple years, where Turris saw L2 duty, and benefited from the matchups while Spezz was in the lineup.Little is still the #1 in Winnipeg and will be for at least a few more years. This being said, i would take Scheifele vs Monahan because of the matchups he may see during the year on L2.
