    MTV is putting Shannara on TV! They are starting with 'Elfstones' for some reason...

    I've never read Brooks' books, and I can appreciate that they sort of set the tone for much of the fantasy genre, but are you worried that this won't hold up well on television? It seems like people are wanting to recreate the success of Game of Thrones, but that series is so much different than these older fantasy series (and shows so much more skin) that I can't see it happening.

    They pass over "Sword" because its too similar to LOTR. I've hoped this would happen. just not sure MTV can do it right.

    I would just consider it similar to Legend of the Seeker. So not great, but good enough

    Yeah, i could see it being similar to Legend of the Seeker as a tv show. I really did like a lot of the books, though.
