Need thoughts on who to keep.

League in Sig. Keep 6. My thoughts on the 6.
Giroux- enough said. Lock
Hall- PPG with more to go. Lock
OEL- young stud d. Lock
Buff- as d huge FPTS (d bonus pts) as forward not so much value. 3rd line. Big ?
Mason- #1 young goalie on good team, goalies valuable in my league. Lock
Rinne- #1 goalie on not so great team, not spring chicken. 80% lock

Possible keepers
R. Johansen- #1C with room to grow. Multi cat stud in making? Really would like to keep. But not sure who to replace.
W. SIMMONDS- plays with G, and good PPP multi cat stud. If I keep I would have 3 flyers of 6 keepers.
Khudobin- possible #1 goalie not so great team. Very iffy. Can only keep 2 goalies

All the players you think to keep would be who I would keep. But it was my understanding Buff was no longer a D in CBC fantasy. If he isn’t a D I don’t know if I’d keep him. I’d keep R. Johansen (I think he’s multi position) over Buff if Buff isn’t a D. Khudobin is not a #1 going into camp, it’s already been reported he’s not the #1. With his name too you can easily redraft him if you want.

If you can, I’d trade Johansen or Buff for a draft pick upgrade. In my league it’s hard to trade with limited keepers, but it’s worth a shot. Don’t trade Rinne though; he’s an ultimate buy low for anyone. His stats in the world championship were stellar. I think he will be a great goalie in 2014-15

Stinks to have to cut Simmonds, he had an awesome year... but you gotta go with the proven scorers - and you picked them correct.

It comes down to Johansen and Buff for me. Johansen is going to be a real star in this league in my opinion, but you're in a real tough spot since your team is clearly good enough to be pushing to win it all, so I think you need to keep Buff and try to win your entire league. It kills me to have to cut Johansen.

If the peg would just trade Buff it would be decided. Buff is a beast in my league as a d. I also have top 4 pick in draft this year so I could get one of Crosby, Karlsson, Malkin, or Ovie, or Getz. So I should have really strong team this year. Buff on my team as d would be nasty. But Johansen showed so much promise this year. This sucks.

If Buff has D-eligibility, he's a lock for a keeper in almost all leagues.

^ yes to this. I'd rather have Johansen over Simmonds going fwd. I'm assuming your bench is safe and locked in? If not, Drouin would have to get some consideration here. But yeah, I like your 6, you picked them right. Rinne will have a nice rebound year and beastly with your cats. Mason is a top 15 goalie as well.

I just can't countenance letting Johansen go - no matter the circumstances...

Buff is a risk as you said: Stud as a D - Dud as an F.

Johansen is a stud regardless - He's gonna be a multi-cat beast for you, with no real risk.

Yes your missing something. Players drafted rounds 1-4 can't be keepers. That's why those players are in draft.

Mason or Rinne - You need a G. Personally, I still prefer Rinne over Mason, but it's a call for me.
Drouin - In a couple of years, perennial 85+/year. Elite talent
Nich - 1st line, 1st pp, with Benn and Seguin. How can you not keep him?

I would replace Buff with Johansen. Buff has already reached his max and seems to keep resurfacing in trade rumors. If he gets traded, you never know how much offense playing time he will get (if any). Johansen is yet to reach his max and has great potential. Plus I like how his NHL team is shaping up.

Rinne & Mason as your keepers. Khudobin you should be able to draft easily (plus, his real value may not come until halfway through the season when Carolina gives up on Ward...or he gets injured).

Bench is not safe all players that are not 6 keepers go back to draft.

I'm hoping Buff gets traded from the Peg. Almost all teams would use him on d. Thats where he wants to play d.

I keep Johnson and let Rinne go. But I am a firmly in the Rinne bust camp and might be proven dead wrong
