I don't see where Varly comes down much, he played at a top level with a goalie coach in Roy and a young, inexperienced D. He also is a younger G with a long term contract... in a 14 team league I think your goalie situation is the least of your worries.

Maybe a Shattenkirk/Landeskog type deal, where you throw in Yak and get a pick in return? If Shatt has to go, he will start on someone else's roster in a 14-team league.
That is something to be weary of, but it comes down to being 8.5 for Lundy and 5.9 for Varly... even with the extra 3 mill I think Lundy is the better own; longer track record, less of an injury risk.

Trying to trade some players I would otherwise have to drop and unprovens for more legit win now pieces.

Well I fail to see how trading Varlamov for Loungo and Reimer and a pick is going to get you there - what am I missing?

Would agree. With what you're explaining, you should be finding a way to trade Yak and Shatt for a better winger IMO. Reimer becomes a cut as well, no?

Lack and Reimer don't have much value for you, aside from getting some starts. Having Markstrom and Johnson are almost just as good. Varly over Lou this year and every year going forward. This trade may get you a back-up this year, but then you'd end up keeping Rask and Lou next year...that doesn't sound as promising as Rask and Varly.

I was mostly trying to get at picks however I see that picks are not worth the value of a downgrade in what I already have, epecially if they are sure keepers for me.... I feel guilty now for even having considered this.... I'm signing up for traders anonymous.

What do you think about going after Lundy/Perry/Landy though? A better game plan?

That's why you always run your trade ideas through this place first. We are to keep your feet on the ground. I know I dont do any serious trades without posting it here, a smart man knows that he doesnt know everything.

We learn and challenge self through discourse and rigour. Like a artisan tempering and testing steel through the fires of his forge we learn through unfixing and fixing self. In a world that seemingly requires crushing others under our bootheels and tearing down others to gain a better vantage point, humility seems a fleeting commodity. But yes I agree, a smart person doesn't know everything, but merely continues to seek answers to the questions that will hopefully lead to some sort of enlightened state (not speaking of religion).

But all that aside, go for Perry or Lundy??!?!

Personally I'm a fan of all the trades you've proposed for Varly, but make sure you get a high pick as well. I'm not a fan and not convinced he will be able to maintain his performance from this past season or his health and think he will be a headache to own going forward. In my opinion, it is time to sell high on Varly, and you should be able to get a nice return.
