    Default Paul Pierce Poker Pro!

Okay, so he's no pro, but Paul Pierce is doing fairly well currently in the World Series of Poker Main Event. He's made it to Day 3 and is sitting (currently) with a higher than average stack. I enjoy keeping tabs on the World Series Main Event, only because it's such a spectacle. I'm not actually all that god at Poker and don't have the time to ever get good at it, but it's fun keeping up with this particular event.

    No, I don't believe so.

Pierce busted out last night when his 2 pair of A/4 was beat by A/J.

    Oh that's cool.
I actually get sucked into watching WSOP occassionally... a great study in the numbers vs. mind games.
Two completely opposite sides of the brain, at war.
(I only hate WSOP because, I contest, it was ESPN's profit on WSOP programming that allowed them to not re-bid on Hockey. Why pay $200k to broadcast a hockey game when you can broadcast poker for $50k per night?)

Well sure, that's the reality television model right? Shows like that can be produced for dirt cheap and yet still bring in decent ratings, particularly compared to other shows.
