AHL comes up with new OT/fighting rules

Didn't read into the rule changes too much...I assume that in the 3v3 scenario, a penalty will turn it into a 4v3 for the team not committing the penalty?

Will there still be a shootout? Personally I think 3 on 3 is stupid. First team to **** up loses so why not just turtle until the shootout. I think 3 on 3 will just end up being a bunch of 1 on 2 attacks. I think they should do 10 minutes of 4 on 4 and then a shootout.

I'm unsure if they will eventually go to a shootout or not. Do you like the 3v3 better or worse than the shootout though? It's not perfect, but I feel like at least 3v3 is closer to the sport of hockey than a shootout, and a better way to end the game.

Interesting. Will a power play during 3v3 mean 3v2? As well, how will they handle the transition from 4v4 to 3v3? Will they stop the play at the 3 minute mark? Will the teams have to move a man off the ice on the fly? Or will it be at the next stoppage?

I thought I had read that they will drop down to 3 players after the first stoppage beyond 3 minutes.

Looks like they are also adapting the International helmet rules. if it falls off you get off the ice immediately.
