    Default Old fart UFA goalies

Thought I'd start a thread about the various old fart UFA goalies which could be updated with any rumours (of where they might sign, if anywhere):

Brodeur - there has been recent speculation Toronto might have some interest.
Tim Thomas - I've heard nada - is he done? No Olympics to lure him back. Is he done? Anyone heard anything?
Vokoun - I've heard a rumour LA might be a possibility, so they have coverage in case Quick misses start of season.
Theodore - didn't get a deal last season (although his name came up sometimes) so almost certainly done.

Please feel free to add anything you hear!

What about Khabibulin. He was reported to have some lukewarm interest from Toronto. Could be total BS though.

Seems like Vokoun is the only guy on this list who could actually be relied upon for good numbers. Thomas' farewell tour was pretty dreadful, Marty is almost running on empty, and I forgot Theodore was even still alive.

Does Bryzgalov count as an old far yet, or still just a fart?
With the market being as flooded as it is, I don't see any of these guys getting a deal except MAYBE Brodeur if a team wants to add that name value to their club.

Great stuff, forgot about Khabibulin - he was also mentioned in the rumour I saw about possibly going to LA.

And yes I think Bryz should be included on the list! The more the merrier.

I own Thomas and I'm still holding onto him in the hopes he signs somewhere, but frankly I'm almost at the point of giving up. I just picked up Sveberg who, whole not great, should get a decent number of starts in Boston. So that may make Thomas expendable on my roster. There are some cheap guys on waiver wire who may be worth dropping him for, like Pageau, Brennan (totally risky but maybe worth a punt), Kevin Hayes, or even Ray Emery (who at least should be a full time backup this season).

If Emery is out there, he's an upgrade over any of the "old farts" listed above - he LOVES playing in Philly, and should be a solid #2 that can push Steve Mason.

None of the "old farts" approach Emery's value.

Interesting, thanks. I posted a thread a while ago asking views on whether I should drop Thomas for any of the goalies available on our league, which includes Emery (and Lindback, Vokoun, Backstrom, Peters) and of he responses I got, only one suggested Emery over Thomas - others were higher on Lindback than Emery. But Lindback has more competition to even be the backup in Dallas. I'll have to consider dropping Thomas for Emery. Thanks again

I really thought Thomas would end up somewhere by now. I need roster space, and don't think I'd keep him anyway, but I hoped he'd sign somewhere that would make him tradeable.

I still think Brodeur will somehow end up in a one-year with Minnesota.
I don't think he's washed up... but hard to be motivated with "the next one" (Schneider) brought in to supplant you.
    Good luck to Marty!

I'm in a similar situation where I have Thomas and was hoping to trade him or keep him if he signed in a decent place. I will need roster space at some point, but there isn't anyone to pick up, just prospects to call up. *Hoping Thomas signs soon*

Thomas - should have stayed retired
Vokoun - should retire for his health
Theodore - what? he's not retired?
