Help with my keepers
Hey guys,
I'm looking to set my keepers for next year for the league in sig....here is my team right now and I need to cut 2 FWDs and 1G.....also, there are some names out there that I think would have to be change for younger and cheaper players...
Right now, I would keep the player in BOLD:

J. Toews (6.5M)

M. Hossa (7.9M)
R. O'Reilly (RFA to be signed around 6M)

Obviously, I need to cut some salary....do I keep Big Buff at 5.75M on D? I would tend to cut Kesler, Hossa and Miller...............and replace two or 3 of Vrbata, Iginla, Ribeiro or O'Reilly by cheaper contracts...Am I on the right track?

The goalie is good. Miller will give you least point per dollar for sure.
You're only at about 60 million with the guys in bold though, so you must have some other guys lined up to fill in the other 10 million?

I agree with Dobber that Neal can go here - I kinda like hanging onto Ignila though. Hossa's hit is way expensive here. If you start two goalies. I wonder about the merit of handing onto Miller.

Miller & Hossa have got to go, and I would be tempted to drop Buff too because I heard that some fantasy trackers (Yahoo, maybe) are going to count him as a forward. He is almost overpaid as a d-man, and certainly not worth 5.75 million as a forward.
If Buff still counts as a defender, then my next choice would be Kesler.

I would try and do similiar with moving hossa and Neal as well to upgrade Neal.... You have some valuable pieces that you will release so will be good to explore moving one and a lower level keeper for a real upgrade I.e if the team with Price only has one NHL goalie or short of depth maybe Miller and Crawford for Price or Crawford and Hossa etc
