    2. I think Chris Kreider is going to score 30 and put up 100pims next season. He skates like the wind, hits like a truck and has a very fine shot. Just ask the Senators, Habs and Penguins blueline who were all CLEANLY beaten by CK only to have the underpants around his ankles wearing dman reach out with whatever he could find to impede his forward progress resulting in a vicious net crash. This kid is the real deal.

    3. Anderson looks to the inside shot at sharing if not starting most of the game in Anaheim for at least 2 seasons. Gibson is solid but only has 46 total AHL games experience. His contract conveniently runs out the same season Andersen goes RFA.
Side A for me, too. Similar reasoning for me.

Without knowing which categories have a greater/lesser effect on the totals, the less informative advice you may receive. Perhaps provide some fantasy points totals (season/per game) for some of these players to give us an idea of how valuable they are in this format?

Also, as for the benefits of each side, it's all relative to your squad as a whole and how the total points of each would effect your overall production on a weekly basis. I don't think it should be looked at in a vacuum.
Great point, horrorfan. Here are the H2H fantasy points for last season for the players we are discussing in the trade:

    C Nicklas Backstrom, Wsh C 698.9 season pts (8.5 pts/game)
LW Evander Kane, Wpg LW 469.8 (7.5)
    D Dougie Hamilton, Bos D 275.2 (4.3)
    G Braden Holtby, Wsh G 535.5 (11.2)
    VS.
LW Chris Kreider, NYR 355.4 season points (5.4 pts/game)
    C Evgeni Malkin, Pit C, RW 513.6 (8.6)
    D John Carlson, Wsh D 471.3 (5.7)
    G Frederik Andersen ANA G 346.5 (12.5)

Those are the numbers from last season.

Thanks to all of you who have added input here...this is one of the largest trades I have ever been involved in and I value your opinions tremendously!

If anything, that moves the needle more to the Backs/Kane/Hamilton/Holtby side for me.
-Backs and Malkin were almost equal on a per-game basis
-Holtby will start more games than Andersen, 1 year and probably over the next 3
-Kane was a flippin beast, and could get better
-Hamilton should improve, while Carlson might see less prime ice, so the Carlson/Hamilton gap isn't as bad as it looks

You sir, are the gentlest Yeti I have met in quite some time. Your analysis is excellent and commendable.

This is the first team in my sig; I feel I am getting a healthier player in Backstrom, an upgraded LW in Kane, a young D who is likely to break out this year or next, and a solid upgrade at #2 G, which has been my main worry spot going into the season.

I am going to pull the trigger on this one. Fingers crossed.

    Great advice, (REP).
I'm not big on Holtby long-term... but I do believe Side B is the winner here.

I feel like this is a great return for what I am giving. But this is a massive, franchise altering deal, so it is obviously a hairy decision.
Leaving the goalies out of it, I'd keep Malkin side. But with Holtby in, that side gets my vote. Although if it was me, I'd keep Malkin + and look to move Andersen for another goalie. Carlson and Kreider are no slouches either. Don't feel pressured to make this deal. But it is very fair IMO.
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.
