My team and scoring is in my signature , I won't be ready to contend for a title until
2015-6, so, looking at my defense , do I have enough, or do I try for DeAngelo with my 5th overall pick, I already have Hedman on Tampa Bay , the fact that our league is mainly Philly guys, DeAngelo won't last much beyond # 5

I would take a forward with your pick, then deal off Letang BEFORE he inevitably gets hurt for another productive defenceman.

I like your defense. You only count 4 so you have to figure that means McDonagh, Hedman and Letang plus one of the young guys. That doesn't mean I wouldn't grab Ekblad if he was still available at 5th overall, but DeAngelo is a few years away yet.

There have been some recent threads about under the radar dmen. Maybe you should check them out and use a late round pick or two on some of the guys suggested there

Yeah I wouldn't take Tony D until round 2 at the earliest. Forward or Ekblad, you can always trade Fs for D.

It seems as though some of the above posters have already given the advice that I'd give you, but I'll re-hash it anyway. I'd definitely not take DeAngelo at number 5, as I think Ekblad or a forward is your best bet. You can always, always, always, trade a forward for a d, especially when we're talking about freshly drafted prospects. Everyone loves the high-end ability of a forward, and there are some good ones that will be available to you at #5.

^Yup. Your D is ok. Demers or Gelinais could be your forth guy. But I wouldn't settle on them. Get active in trades. Get yourself a sound 4th dman to roll with.
