The Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday signed restricted free agent forward Corey Tropp to a two-year contract. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Tropp, 24, had two goals and 11 points in 53 games last season. The Blue Jackets claimed him off waivers from the Buffalo Sabres on Nov. 28. Tropp led Columbus with a plus-11 rating in 44 games after he was acquired.

The Sabres selected Tropp in the third round (No. 89) of the 2007 NHL Draft. He has five goals and 19 points in 87 games with the Sabres and Blue Jackets.

The Blue Jackets also signed defenseman Cody Goloubef to a one-year, two-way contract. Goloubef, 24, has one goal in 17 NHL games with the Blue Jackets over the past three seasons.

I'm more interested in Goloubef signing also announced. Is he poised to become a regular yet?

I agree with Carcillo. I'd say he's AHL bound but will be one of the first recalled when injuries roll around.
