    Just came back from my fourth run this week. Just wanted to see how it felt and made it a 3.2k run. On Tuesday I ran 7.6k and yesterday I made it through a 10k. My first 10k in over five years and it feels good. Body feels good. No aches yet. Today's run was my third day straight, so during the first half I felt quite slow and lacking energy. Then that feeling passed and it was back to normal. 25 km in total this week. Aiming for more next week.

    If one were to start out running. No real experience. I figure I'll spend a decent time walking due to no stamina, but what would be a good starter distance? I'm 27 too

    I would start out walking, upping your pace in a way you're comfortable with. Then, from what I've seen, a lot of coaches tell people to start adding in bits where you run. It all depends on what you're comfortable with, but I would probably start adding in 30 second jogs, two minutes of walking, 30 second jogs, two minutes of walking and then go from there. You'll never know until you start, but have a lot of patience. Don't expect to be running too much too fast. If you do, that's awesome, but it's icing on the cake. I never ever expected myself to do a 7.5k or a 10k as fast as I've done now. I expected a 10k three weeks down the road, at the earliest. I guess it's just my old running habits that are waking up again, or something.

    So start by walking, then sprinkle in some jogs. I don't go all out every time. Sometimes I go lower pace, sometimes I try to push myself.

    Ya fair enough. I don't expect to be running a marathon or anything soon. I guess I'll just have to start and see what my body can handle and go from there.

    There are some stellar couch to 5k plans out there. My wife, when she first started, went from never running in her life, to running in a 5k race (for fun) about 4 months later.
