Well deserved, he's put together a great team. I think we'll see Jim Nill slide higher up the voting next season.

LOL at Greg Sherman getting votes.

What's his job these days anyways? To make coffee for Roy and Sakic?

The voting implies that Sherman does an excellent job getting them their coffee.

Two surprises jump out for me:

Kekalainen should have been much higher. He's been excellent in Columbus.

Dale Tallon got a vote? I know he's built a lot of youth, but they were the second-worst team in the league this season. Not sure how that is deserving of a vote.

12-team Keeper pool, straight points for forwards & dmen. Goalies get: 2 points per win, 3 per shutout, 1 point per assist & 1 point per shootout loss.

    League champ in 2013, 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2022.

Top 8 forwards, 5 dmen and 2 goalies count.

We keep 15 players (any position) plus two rookies.

Forwards: Panarin, Ovechkin, Kopitar, Stamkos, Tuch, Rust, Marchessault, Pavelski, Miller, Bertuzzi, Stone, Kakko, Brown, Stankoven, Kovalenko
Defence: Hedman, Fox, Matheson, Thrun, Jiricek
Goalies: Kochetkov, Talbot, Vasilevskiy, Campbell, Schmid

This award stinks. What did Marc Bergevin do?

C'mon Big Ev. That's not fair. He signed Subban to a bridge contract instead of offering him a long-term deal two years ago and thereby saving the team cap space in the long run. He signed Travis Moen to a four-year deal for almost $2 million a year when he clearly wasn't worth it. He traded for Parros and signed Murray. He overpaid for Briere for two years.

In all seriousness, he did make some good moves. The Vanek trade didn't cost the Habs anything big. He signed MaxPac to a cap-friendly long-term hit. He picked up Weise and Weaver (big parts of the Habs playoff success). The Prust signing was a good move, although his body is breaking down now. Trading three years of Erik Cole for one year of Ryder was smart.

True, Kekalainen deserves more recognition in the voting - Columbus is like the forgotten team I guess, no R-E-S-P-E-C-T

Kekalainen is doing good work but he didn't deserve any more recognition - not yet. He got just the right amount of recognition and respect. Their playoff roster included just two players acquired by Kekalainen - Jack Skille and Nick Schultz. The core is still very much built by his predecessor. Sure he's done some re-signings (Bobrovsky, Atkinson etc.) and good work but he hasn't done that much moves yet that would have helped make the team better. If he continues doing his good work, his time will come when it comes to getting more recognition from his peers.
