I'm curious to see where he will end up. He will have a shit load of money thrown at him.

I respect the guy for doing what he think is the best move to win more championships.

I think that Lebron is cheapening his legacy. He is chasing the NBA championship rather than letting other players come to him, and his team, to win it the way guys like Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan and even Kobe Bryant did with their teams. It is too bad because I think he could be considered one of the greatest to ever play the game.

One theory is that wade, bosh will opt out too and then all three will resign with Miami for less money. That way they can have more money for depth players.

    One theory that is

Who cares. As usual, it's all about the all mighty dollar and hoping he can find someone willing to throw even more money at him than he's already making.

    Pathetic.

I think Wade's injuries are catching up to him, and Lebron sees the writing on the wall, and is going to look to win the championship with someone whose knees and shoulders are still healthy.

There's a good chance that it's NOT about the dollar. Wade and Bosh might both opt out to take less to get more players.

You don't think Jordan would have left if he wasn't winning titles (if he could have)? You do know that Magic got a coach fired? Kobe wanted to get traded and was nearly traded to the Bulls.

I agree with you. The guy is doing what's necessary to reach his goal. I don't think people give him enough credit for it.

Jordan was in the league for seven seasons before winning his first championship, and if he wanted to chase the glory, he would have "taken his talents" to Detroit who were the team to beat in the late 80's / early 90's, but he didn't.

Magic won the championship before Westhead got fired, and then a disgruntled Magic manned up and won 4 more championships in L.A.

Lebron left the Cavs despite taking them to the championship series in 2007 and leading them to the team's best record in 2009 (66-16) and an almost equally good record in 2010 (61-21). A team on the rise; something you can't say about the others because they never left.

Lebron just packs up and leaves when the going gets tough... just like Cleveland all over again.

The Spurs suffered a devastating loss last year, and instead of calling it quits they regrouped and came back stronger than ever this season. True champs.

The entire landscape of the NBA was different during Jordan's era and comparing Lebron's actions today to those players is ridiculous. I am not familiar with the specifics of the CBA from that era but I do remember that the only player that signed a big free agent contract was Jon Koncak. NBA stars signed long term contracts that locked them up with their team. They weren't being noble or greater competitors rather it was the norm. The business of professional sports has greatly changed in the last 25 years. To compare the actions of those players to today's is unfair.

Overall, your entire Michael Jordan argument is flawed since Jordan only became a UFA in 1996 AFTER he won 4 titles. He never was a free agent and in position to chase titles when he was a younger player. He renegotiated his contract in 1988 with 3 seasons left on it. The Bulls more than tripled his salary 3 seasons before they had to. How many times has that happened in sports? Jordan didn't play out his paltry contract. The Bulls ripped it up and signed him to a new deal 3 years before they had. So yeah- comparing Jordan and Lebron's contracts is silly.

You do realize he took less money to play in Miami originally than what he was offered. That's not just about the almighty dollar. That's about winning.
