Just from the trade itself Yes, it's certainly an overpay for Neal. The owner might have a man crush on him hence the overpay. Nice haul for the owner moving Neal. He improved his team a great deal.

If the team acquiring Neal has extra assets to work with its not so bad, but if it leaves the cupboard bare then it will come back to bite him in the ass later on potentially.

looks like a bit of an overpay on Neal, but it also depends on the depth of the owner and his potential keepers. he got the best player in the deal.
8 team pool may not be that bad as there are lots of available players, and if he is deep at prospects who are ready to make jump, then may not be that bad.
my vote is win / win, not a bad deal.

It appears to be a limited keeper, and according to your signature, you can only keep 3 wingers, which means you're going to have to overpay for a guy like Neal. In addition, there's only 8 teams, which means there are likely a number of solid players on the wire which makes Lucic and Krejci easier to replace, but the top talent is all that much harder to get. Given your league setup, it's not as much of an overpayment as in many other leagues, but it's still more then I would have wanted to pay, but the owner did what he had to do to get one of the best wingers in the game, and in a limited keeper, it's not a bad thing.

You would not have kept Lucic and Krejci I don't think, so it's not as bad as it first appears. Giving up the first 2 picks in the draft hurts, but if you feel you can win in the next few years, it's not a terrible price to pay.

I think it would be ok if...and only if the team getting Neal was right there to contend and he was locked in Pittsburgh. But rumours are floating that he might be dealt, and if that's the case I want nothing to do with him.

I don't mind the deal - limited keeper, small league, giving up entry draft picks not such a big deal. The price to consolidate top end talent in a league this is the price - you don't pay you don't get.

As others have said, shallow/limited keeper... it's not a bad trade.
    This year's #1 & #2 entry draft players might not be fantasy-relevant in a shallow-keeper until their year #3 or year #4.
So it's basically Neal for Lucic for the upcoming two years while the team sitting on prospects waits for them to develop... and by the time they develop... Lucic might be old & slow.

    OK trade, IMO.

Yep, in limited keepers nobody wants to give up elite players and overpayment is expected.

I think it's one of those trades that looks bad the moment you first see it, but when you really think about it, it's not nearly as bad as you first thought it was.

I would likely do this given your cats, however it is an overpay though and I'm assuming the other GM is trading him as a player still on Geno's wing. I'd wait a bit and see if Neal moves anyways, not sure that same deal won't be available in a week. Hold your cards close though; I'd drag it out a tad longer if I could.

The owner of Neal is me. I have ovechkin getzlaf seguin giroux and traded Neal for depth to win for the 5th straight year. Really hoping Neal will be traded and even if not, given our cats krecji and lucic are pretty decent and Bennett and Reinhart are nice assets to have going forward. I thought it was a fair deal but if Neal does get traded it's lopsided in my favor IMO
