Lots of love and lots of bust from what I have seen in different threads... Probably about 50% good and bad... Fantasy wise what does everyone see in the future? I can say that I think he has a high pp percentage whatever his totals come out to.

I do think hiring Ramsey could have been directly to help Schultz, but then again that whole corps needs help,

People are down on him after a bad year but this guy is fantasy gold. People are starting to give up on the Oilers and sell low, which is not the time to bail. Oilers have a very bright future still IMO. They will compete later than expected, just like the Kings who took a million years to finally compete.

Agreed, there is no "magical" missing ingredient on the Oilers. They haven't gotten it done yet, but I think they will and Schultz is definitely a buy-low right now.

he is likely a 40-45 point player at the top end and at least another couple of years away from that

treating him as more than that will bite you in the ass pretty hard

for Schultz specifically, that magical ingredient is a defensive stalwart to soak up the hard minutes... perhaps Nikitin if they can get that deal done.

That was exactly what I was thinking in the Nikitin thread where I was thinking he'd help if they could sign him.

If Schultz is a bust, then Hall, Eberle, RNH, and Yakupov are fantasy garbage. I agree with the rest, if you can buy low, do it. I would take any of those players on my team. I think he can regularly put up 50pts a season, but with the upside of 65pts, depending on his supporting cast and health.

He might not live up to the expectations that people had for him when he first signed in Edmonton but he remains a good offensive player. In a down year he still finished in the top 40 among dmen. If that is as bad as it gets then he is in pretty good shape moving forward.

I may be mistaken, but wasn't this also his first full NHL season?

His value depends heavily on the cats your league uses. In multi-cat, he's a category killer pretty much across the board other than a few purely offensive cats. In points only, there's a decent amount of upside there.

Yes it was which is commonly an issue for college guys that play a shorter schedule.
