I'm biased, but I'd go with Mantha. Lindholm won't be a slouch though.

Flip a coin. I'd be interested in seeing what the trade is you're making!

Ya that's a tough call, If you're valuing them pretty evenly as well you might want to try and see which player the other GM values less. You might then be able to go after the guy he likes less and add another piece coming back to you as well.

For me personally I think I'd take Mantha, gun to my head

It's close but I'd go with Lindholm.

To answer this question, I would say Lindholm. I think Mantha is still 3 years away at best, and even when he does arrive (in roughly 3 years) no way he will be "the guy". In 3 years, Lindholm will have a better chance of steering the Hurricanes.

Mantha will need one year in the AHL at the most.

if you need production now take lindholm. if you can afford to wait a bit longer take mantha. both are risky, i think mantha a bit riskier but could be the better fantasy option longterm.

Holland said during the Mem Cup that they're going to give Mantha every chance to play in the top 6 this fall. He said they'll try him with Dats, Zetterberg, Nyquist, Franzen and see if he can click with them and if not he'll go play a top 6 role in Grand Rapids. I think the wait is much shorter than 3 years.

Maybe I didn't catch his best games but I was never really impressed by Lindholm in Carolina this year. He just didn't look all that dangerous offensively.

Personally I'd take Mantha > Lindholm.

I see Lindholm as a pretty safe prospect. He will be a solid NHL'er for a long time.

Yeah, I remember that being one of the big draws for Elias Lindholm going into the 2013 NHL draft: safety. He was pretty much always touted as a guy who would be a fixture in an NHL top-6 for a very long time, as someone who could play in all situations and be a successful offensive player, to boot. I'd personally take Lindholm here, as I think their upsides are very similar; however, I just think Lindholm will, by virtue of his diverse tool kit of NHL-quality skills, be given more chance to succeed and score points as a feature player for the Hurricanes.

yea sorry i meant in fantasy terms. both are risky to be good fantasy players, mantha i think has more risk but higher rewards. chances are lindholm is guarenteed to be an nhler, we can't say the same about mantha yet.
