I had to make the same decision earlier this year and chose Kuz. It is very close for me but my gut told me to go with Kuznetsov. I hope to see him mesh with one of the big guns (or both) and really excel

Pole leaning completely to the Kuz Side too.
I think I'll decline the Galy offer and keep Kuz for the time being. Still not sure he makes my final squad (as I need to consider a 3rd tender or perhaps mr. Consistent Pomminville with my final Utility spot, but always good to do a market check on him.
I have Kuz, and I just talked about Galchenyuk here. It is quite close, but I would go for Galchenyuk for next year. It will be Kuznetsov's first full year in the NHL, and there is a high variability in his point totals. He could be relegated to the doghouse, and not even reach 40 points, or he could dominate for 70+.
Galchenyuk has already been bitten by the bad-luck bug, and I am of the mind that a coin flipping tails doesn't imply a higher chance of flipping tails in the future. It will be Galchenyuk's third year in the NHL and I think he projects higher than Kuznetsov in the short-run.

I'd have been thrilled to get a Gally for Kuz offer.....damn
I'll take Galchenyuk. It wasn't that long ago that many were saying that he should have gone 1st overall instead of Yakupov.
I think Kuznetsov will be a very good player in the league but I think Galchenyuk is just a better one, even though it hasnt looked like it early in his career.

Not to be too nitpicky, but since it's close, you're actually asking a bunch of different questions here.

I like Kuznetsov because I see him garnering more ice time than Galchenyuk and I believe that Kuz will be given every opportunity to shine. I don't see the same length of rope for Gal in MTL.
But Gal is younger by a few years so perhaps he continues developing into that frame of his. I think he either gets it and becomes a top 6 star in MTL or can't put it together and is dealt elsewhere.
Its all speculation but I think the pressure to win in Quebec could be an issue for a 20 year old. Kuz took a longer road but I think he is a relative unknown in Washington. Can go to the supermarket or night club without anyone knowing who he is at least for a season or two.
All these related thoughts are why I think Kuz has more upside. Its not that I think Gal doesn't just that it isn't as high as Kuz.
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.
Kuznetsov for me to. i also like his upside more. hes in a great position too.

I agree with him. I don't see how Kuz's upside is higher than Galchenyuk's. They both have huge upside; maybe it has to do with the fact that Montreal hasn't had a superstar scorer for a long time, while Washington is a goldmine for that, so it could be hard to picture Gally getting huge points and Kuz not at this point in time. I know, I know, Kuz has already had success in the pros in Russia, but Gally to me is just overflowing with upside.
