This will be known as the summer of the buyout...many buyouts on the way.

If I was Carolina I would buyout Cam Ward and end the nightmare once and for all. Three more years at $6.3 million per.

I honestly see him getting the majority of the workload this season. 55+ starts, "bounceback" year (relatively speaking). Cam Ward will be what he is ... an average NHL netminder.

Carolina could also buy out Liles, or even Semin?

Honestly I think there is no chance Nash gets bought out, which I assume a lot of others think too. He's still a good player, worst case scenario he gets traded and NYR retain some salary and/or take a bad contract back.

Nash, since being drafted, = high hopes, little reward.

With that being said, i put my money on Clarkson. Can he be bought out?

    Not a compliance buyout.

And a regular buyout doesn't give the Leafs any cap relief. They would still have a cap hit of almost $4.7 million for four of the next six years. http://capgeek.com/buyout-calculator...06&buyout_d=15

Yep, and Clarkson's contract is basically structured to prevent the likelihood of a buyout over the next four seasons. Basically the worst possible contract.

Havlat and Leino are certainly headed out to pasture

Semin's contact looks positively horrid as do Booth and both Richards

first guy to get the chopping block would be Havlat as San Jose is still stinging after their playoff loss
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.
