Patrick Wiercioch is a good one to keep an eye on (again). I think if he could stay in the lineup for 75+ games we'd likely see him hit 40 points.

I also think this is the year we see Justin Schultz bust out.

Two others I'll be keeping a close eye on is Demers in SJ and Brodin in MIN.

Joni Pitkanen. Out all year and you can probably grab him with the last pick of the draft. Should be back on the top PP for the Canes, until he gets hurt again..

Zach Bogosian - with Buff staying as forward it will open up more offensive room for Bogo from the backend, he will also stay on the right side from the start so he don't have to play on his off-side (he sucked there), no more trying to make him shutdown D-man only like Noel tried to do, he scored about 35 point pace the previous two seasons before this and if he stays healthy for most of the season he'll give you 30+ points.
Lubomir Visnovsky - A bounce back season from the veteran D-man is in the cards as he'll be on the 1st PP-unit with Tavares, Okposo and co.
Simon Despres - Out of Bylsma's doghouse finally and will get his chances next year

Zadorov: Soon to be Buffalo's best defenseman.
Rundblad: Should be some room on Chicago's blueline and just needs a chance. Should be PP #2 with Leddy.
Ellis' role really depends on what Lavy decides to do. He's not going to get you much in terms of multi-cat value, and I'm not really sure how much more he can move on up points wise. Josi/Weber aren't going anywhere on PP1, and Ellis was already PP2 last season. Unless the team drastically improves offensively (which could happen) you might not see any improvement outside plus/minus.

Stone is a very nice multi-cat option in deep leagues. He might be better off were he moved to another team and given a chance to take a top 4 spot.

Rundblad. I still don't get the trade for the Hawks. He could earn some PP2 time (chicago went with only 3 dman in the playoffs) but I just don't see the time for him. He's pretty much guaranteed to get bottom pairing time IF he even makes the roster. And he's going to have to beat out Clendening and Johns for that spot, possibly even Trevor Van Reimdsyk. I'm not sure he does.

Zadarov is a stud. He's going to be a multi-cat beast, and if the Sabres can ever get a little offense going, he could add some nice numbers.

From Jan. 11th (when Byfugien moved to forward) to the end of the season, Bogosian actually increased his overall playing time to averaging just under 24 minutes a game. During that time he added PP time he wasn't see before, getting anywhere from 1:30 to over 3 minutes of PP time. He rewarded Noel's confidence in him with a resounding 5 points in the next 25 games, or a 16 point pace.

Is Buff staying up really going to change anything?

Maurice's confidence, Noel got fired at that point.

Bogo's season at that point was already a write-off. He improved his play considerably when Maurice took over but the point production just didn't follow. It can happen with D-men. Worth noticing that Bogo's SH% was only 2.2% when his career average is still 4.8%. So he could have doubled his goal production (from 3 to 6) if his SH% was just his career average.

People are currently as down on Bogosian as they were on EJ a year ago. Look at what EJ did under Roy. Give Bogo a full season under Maurice and the same can happen with him.

    Woops, good call. Thanks.

Also good call on Bogosian's shot percentage, and the possibility of a coaches confidence in him affecting his positively. I guess I'm just down on him (like you said).

It could happen but is a pretty big long shot in my opinion. Two things are standing in the way: 1. Pitkanen issued a statement in March he is unsure when he is going to play (read if). 2. He is a UFA and I think Canes will let him go in favour of someone more stable.

I've learned in previous years to stop gambling on Joni Pitkanen. Flashes of good production, but to much risk to deserve a roster spot on a smaller roster.
