    Default Audit my team (REP)

I haven't done this in ages, purely because so many of my rival GMs are on here, but I think I know where my team is head right now. Curious as to what others think my team needs to do and I'll even listen to suggestions about how to move forward.

Here is my team as of now:

    Centers:
    Gregory Campbell
    Vitale
    Colborne
    Konopka
    Brodziak

    LW:
    Parise
    Raffi Torres
    Lucic
    Mcleod
    Paajarvi
    G. Bourque

    RW:
    Corey Perry
    J. Lupul
    P. Kane
    C. Orr
    K. Barch

    D:
    Subban
    Maatta
    Diaz
    John Scott
    Ehrhoff
    D. Savard
    Polak

    G:
    Halak
    Bachmann

    Top Prospects:
    JG Pageau
    Weal
    Dumba
    B. Strait

I know my Centers are my weakest category right now.

League counts G, A, +/-, PPP, SHP, FOW, Hits, Blocks, PIM, W, SVs, Shutouts, GAA, SV%

    Head to head league.

I think you need to focus on upgrading your goalies as well. I wouldn't be comfortable with a Halak/Bachman combo. They might not get 82 starts between them.

Defence: Hedman, Fox, Matheson, Thrun, Jiricek
Goalies: Kochetkov, Talbot, Vasilevskiy, Campbell, Schmid

    How many teams?
This is laughable in a 10 team league, but not that bad in a 30 team league.

Can't evaluate without knowing number of teams in league.

My general strategy for H2H leagues with these cats:
    1. Roster your Defense for HIT/BLK/PIM. D out-block F by about 4:1, so you definitely need ALL your D to contribute decently there. While you do that, see if they can rake HIT/PIM for you. I also try to shore up +/- with guys on good teams like Orpik (PIT), K.Millar (BOS), Boychuk (BOS).
    2. Roster your Forwards for Offense: G,A,PPP.
    3. In H2H, goalies are volatile week-to-week. Roster for quantity, not quality. Trade your goalies while they are hot and pick-up waiver wire back-ups that are emerging even on bad teams. Here, the fact that you have Halak/Bachman doesn't concern me, that's absolutely fine.

I sure hope this is a 20 or 24 team league though.
With your centers, I would punt all consideration for points though - and look to dominate the grit categories and roster FOW.
I'd see if you can get a guy like Tyler Bozak, who is very solid in this format but his injuries (& TOR topC doubt) might allow you to get him cheap - as long as you don't have TOR homers.

Let us know on that league size - good luck.

At first glance, you're quite thin at the Centre position and have very strong wingers. How did you do in the FOW department this year by the way? Personally, I'd probably move a winger for some help at centre. Make sure you hang onto Colborne though, I really like that kid and his situation in Calgary.

Forgot to mention it is a salary cap league. So that limits a lot of pickups.

I had J. Staal recently for FOWs, but I am trying to land a good winger still to shore that up and actually be better in that area.

dont worry about the wings you need major help at center and in goal. also besides subban your defense isnt that strong either. pick up some hits/block guys like lovejoy, robidas, etc. they shouldnt cost that much.

lovejoy costs a ton. I used to have him. I actually finished last year in the top ten in scoring categories, but only got to the 2nd round of playoffs.

I do want to get a G and another C.

Who would you shop to fill in those needs without creating new ones?

I think Lupul and one of your D (possibly Ehrhoff) would get you a solid centre or a goaltender. Since your pickups are limited, maybe you could buy low on a guy like Luongo or Holtby, you need a guy that will give you starts.

Looks like you're a favourite in the PIMs category... too bad there's no bonus for suspensions.
10 team pts-only keeper league - keep 10 plus 10 from past/present farm. No bench: entire active roster counts. Goalies: 2 pts/win + 3/shutout. 82 adds / year. NHL playoffs count for separate prize.

A cheap goalie option could be Ramo or Khudobin. Don’t invest too much into a goalie tho, 5 of the 14 categories are goalie cats, that’s only 35% of the points go to goalies. Right now, I would say you don’t have the tools to try and win goalie cats every week. Go with goalies that’ll win you 2/5 cats and hope to win your player stats.

With the unpretty cats taking up 4/14 (29%) I’d aim to win those plus a couple of cheap goalie cats (svs and sv%) and hope that Kane and Subban can carry a lot of the load when it comes to points. Look to add Matt Read from Philly, he could help you win the SHP with helping your unpretty cats too.

I would trade Lucic for a mid-tier goalie (Bishop/Holtby/Smith) or Parise for a more mid-elite goalie (Rinne/Quick/Schneider). I would trade the other left over for a mid-elite cross-category defenseman (Hedman/Doughty/McDonagh). I'd rather be weak at LW than goal or defense. Trade Perry for Getzlaf straight up. Keep a death grip on PKane and Subban. Without much effort, I like the way that team looks a lot better:
    PKane/Subban/Rinne/McDonagh/Getzlaf/Halak/Lupul/Maata/etc. Good luck!

Even better if you can obtain an average goalie for Lupul as Dikoi suggested and keep one of your LWs.
