Default Dany Heatley... everyone's favourite topic

He's a UFA this summer which means that in all likelihood some GM somewhere is going to take a chance on him.

    Two questions:

    1) What does he get paid (cap and term)?
    2) Which team takes a chance and why?

    Ok three questions

    3) is he destined for the KHL?
I once traded Henrik Lundqvist and Ilya Kovalchuk in return for Peter Budaj and Henrik Zetterberg… have lived in shame ever since.

I don't think we see him defect to the KHL, bad combination anyway with his driving abilities and Russian traffic.

I think we see him get a one year deal with a team, maybe two years if the cap hit is not too much (less than $2M per). I see him still being able to help a desperate team on the PP. Maybe Fla or Buf, even if it's on the second PP unit. Both teams will need to spend up to the cap as well, if I'm not mistaken.

    He signs with Edmonton for...

wait, I dont see that happening after all.

    Heatley - wow.
    1yr, $2m.

Somebody will give him the ol' Brad Boyes test-run.
Heater is toast unlike he ends up on a line where his two linemates can carry the zone, wait 15 seconds for him to arrive, and then feed him netmouth... for 20-30 tap-ins per year.

Since I mentioned Boyes... I'll send Heater to FLA on that 1yr deal @ $2m.

Interesting fit. He could score 20 playing with JT (of course this isn't saying much, I COULD score 20 with him. Just park in front of the net, stick on the ice)

That would be something. If he's smart he signs a 1 year deal on a contender and hopes to enter 2015 as a UFA coming off of an OK year

They do seem to have the market cornered on ageing forwards

I actually don't mind Heatley on their 4th line. More productive than an Orr or any other master of fistacuffs.

Of course I don't want him at anything over 2 mill and would rather spend that money on keeping Kulemin.

Boyes is a nice comparison. GMs will always be interested when you've got a pedigree of goal scoring (even if it's a ways back)
