Default Good time to acquire Benn?

I have Kopitar and a fellow GM has been trying to pry him away from me for awhile. He has Benn and I'm pretty sure hed do this deal straight up.
Is this year's Benn (ppg) the Benn we'll see going forward or did he just have a career year? I feel like Kopitar has developed into a really great real-world player somewhat at the expense of his fantasy value so I'm wondering if Benn would be a better option for me? Even if they produce the same pts, Benn's PIM should give him a slight advantage for me

    What do you guys think?

I prefer Benn. I think he has the ability to out produce kopitar by 1-9 points each year, and you should get an extra 40 or so points from PIMs. With PIMs included, the only way kopitar is worth more is if he outpoints Benn by 4 points... which I don't see happening.

I'd take Benn over Kopitar any day.

Kopitar and Benn are evenly matched IMO although Benn edges him in PIM for sure. Gaborik (or another scoring winger on Kopitar's line) is the x-factor for me. Since the Gaborik addition, Kopitar has been producing on a borderline-elite level. He finally has a very talented winger to play with. Brown and Williams are more mucker / hard worker types. In the playoffs, Kopitar is scoring at a 110 point pace and his PPG increased down the stretch with Gaborik. If Kopitar has his wingman, I think both he and Benn are 80-85 point talents. The benefit to Benn is he is a lock to play with Seguin and he gets the PIM.

    Good points Fung,

For me, I choose Benn all day. Kopi is nice of course, but I personally feel Benn will produce better across all cats.

I like Benn a little better, but it is close. Benn will be playing with Seguin for a long time, that combo is just going to get better. Kopitar has a slightly bigger name, so I would try to squezze out an upgrade in draft pick as well. Even if it is your 3rd for his second. If you can do better great, the draf tpick would just make it that much better.

I wouldn't expect more from Benn than we have already seen, but I think that PIMs probably push him above Kopitar. Kopitar does still have more offensive upside.

I like Kopitar more, not sure why. Just a gut instinct. Plus, he has a longer track record and I still am one of the believers that he has big PPG+ upside
