Default Voracek ++ vs Johansen ++

In a points only full keeper (F & D positions) which would you rather have:

    Voracek + 1st overall (2014) + M. Richards + Streit

    vs

    Johansen + Yakupov + 5th Overall (2014)

Thanks, for any insight, sweet sexy rep guaranteed

I'd lean to the Johansen/Yakupov group.

Johansen, to me, looks like he'll produce at the same or better level then Voracek.

Yakupov had a horrific season, but he's still a #1 overall pick and should put up good numbers down the road (certainly more than Richards).

This strikes me as a year where picking #1 or #5 is a bit of a crapshoot. IE- there's no obvious top choices like a McKinnon, Tavares, Stamkos, etc...my limited research makes me think any of the top few forwards picked could produce decently.

Given it's a full keeper, Streit has some value, but I think it's worth losing him to add Johansen and Yakupov.

    Johansen side.

There is not a big gap between 1 and 5 with the picks. So you'll get a solid player at either slot.

I like Johansen quite a bit more than Voracek and Yakupov will evolve into a solid player. Long-term I like RyJo and Yakupov better than Voracek and Richards.

As for Steit he provides decent value but definitely replaceable.

Edge goes to Ryjo / Yakupov side.

Agreed with above. Voracek and Johansen cancel each other out. Richards is almost done being a useful fantasy hockey player. So I would take Yakupov and 5th overal over Steit and 1st overall.

I'm with the rest. The Yakupov wild card looks better then the 1st overall, plus you get a 5th overall which shouldn't be that far off the 1st with the 2014 talent pool. Richards and Streit both look to have left their best days behind them and as long as this isn't an incredibly deep league, they shouldn't be hard to replace off the wire.

Put me down for Johansen/Yak as well, Yak was a no-brainer 1st overall pick back when he was drafted and you know he's going to get every chance to live up to that billing, and he has the talent to do it. I like Johansen over Voracek as it is, and this is a good draft to move down in as the top 5-6 prospects to me are all very close in upside.

Next 1-2 years the Voracek side wins, after that the Johansen side should be the clear winner and is the side you should take here - Cheers.
