Is this for the team in your sig? I don't see Kesler or Hodgson.

You keep 7 forwards, 3 def and 1 goalie correct?

Your post is a bit confusing. Tighten it up a bit with exact specifics and we can then help you better.

Kesler seems like a misfit here - any chance of trading him to a contender for another young up-and-coming forward?

I'd explore trades before you declare keepers. Those are the players I'd be keeping if you make no trades. Now, if you were to package say Kesler / Suter for an upgrade at the forward keeper position then you slide in Seth Jones with Hamilton and Gardiner as your 3 D keepers.

i agree with this, the majority of the team seems to be very young and guys like Kesler, Suter and Lundqvist are pretty much out of place here

i would probably be looking into moving them for guys more in line with the rest of your rosters age

I'd keep what you have in your OP + Callahan.

Callahan for me. I do not see the upside in the others while C should fill stats well

Two schools of thought on the possible keeper here:

    1) Keep the guy with highest perceived league value, for trading. That player is Callahan.
    2) Simply try to keep the guy with highest 3+ year upside.

Your team is SO young, that it is destined to be a true competitor in probably 2 years.
Let's be realistic, Callahan ain't going to be scoring any more in 2 years than he is now.
If there is a trade market for Callahan, yeah - you keep him.

But in "points only" pools with 91 forward keepers, he's a dime-a-dozen keeper guy.
The NHL's #91 forward is going to score about 49-50pts per year.
And what is Callahan... well, he's a 45-55pt scorer. He has fringe value in "points-only".

(and not to be mean... but multi-cat is getting so popular that we all get used to assigning Callahan a higher value... and he's one of those guys that really is NOT very valuable in "points only")

The guy I like here, on a gamble is Matt Read.
His TOI is increasing, he's getting solid ES point totals, with a low PP point total.
As pure PP offensive skill, he's on the fringe of entering PHI's top group.

PHI really, really leaned on its top five this year on the PP (Giroux, Hartnell, Simmonds, Voracek + either Timonen/Streit).
That was a pretty good unit.
It also keeps most of their top line in tact for the first ES shift after a PP.

But Read... I think he's offensively smart & talented enough to take on more PP minutes than the 8th most he had on this PHI team.

He's putting up 35pts even-strength/short-handed... with minimal PP contribution.
IMO, better linemates & he is a guy that could touch 55 or even 60pts with the more typical 45 ESP/15 PPP that 60pt players put out.

I'd take Read over Callahan, unless... you think somebody in your league is interested in Callahan.
