Default Lets make a list of goalies for the next 3-4 yrs will be lock as #1 goalies.

Also which goalies have a most likely chance as being staters for the next 3-4 years. Also goalies where we have no idea if they wil be starters next 3- 4 years. That where starters or could become for next season. With goalie situation the way it is it makes keeping goalies more of a difficult choice. I will start the list. Feel free to add goalies to list that will be most likely starters next year. I know nothing is guaranteed with goalies any more but list should be good for next 3-4 years.
(Should be good but who knows the way goalie situation is playing out this year.)

    Locks for next 3-4 years
    Price
    Rask
    Lundqvist
    Lehtonen
    Varlamov
    Quick
    Crawford
    Luongo
    Bobrovsky
    Rinne
    Bishop
    Schneider
    Fleury (unless implodes in playoffs)
    Smith

    Probably starters next 3-4 years
    Breiner
    Miller
    Mason
    Halak
    Hiller
    Niemi
    Howard
    Lack
    Khudobin
    Lehner

No idea if going to be starts next 3-4 years

    Anderson
    Pavelec
    Reimer
    Andersen
    Ward
    Kuemper
    Holtby
    Lack
    Harding
    Scrivens
    Fasth
    Hackett
    Ramo
    Neuvirth

Let me know who has to be moved and who I missed. looking for starters. Not goalies that could back up some games in the next 3-4 years. Thanks

I would put Lehtonen as a Lock
    Lack as probably
Bernier could be argued as a lock as well.
Mason Should be a lock after this season.
I would almost put Pavelec in the No idea section
My gut feeling wants to put Fasth as in the probably starting over putting Scrivens there but most likely they will do a 41/41 game split or so ...

    that's my $.02

Ramo in Calgary - leaning towards no idea in 3-4.
Smith in Phoenix - is a lock

That's a pretty long "lock" list, but surprisingly... I'd probably agree with it.

Goalies do fluctuate, and to see whether we can confidently say a goalie will still be a starter for the next 4 years, let's look back to 3 seasons ago, 2010-2011.
2010-2011 Goalie Leaders: WINS (with age, after THAT season)
    38 Price (MON), 23
    38 Luongo (VAN), 32
    37 Ward (CAR), 27
    37 Kipper (CGY), 35
    37 Howard (DET), 26
    36 Bryzgalov (PHX), 31
    36 Lundqvist (NYR), 29
    36 Fleury (PIT), 26
    35 Quick (LA), 25
    35 Niemi (SJ), 27
    35 Thomas (BOS), 37
    34 Lehtonen (DAL), 27
    34 Miller (BUF), 30
    33 Rinne (NAS), 28
    33 Crawford (CHI), 26
    28 Bobrovsky (PHI), 22
    27 Halak (STL), 26

It sort of falls of from there.
Not surprisingly, the guys over the age of 30 fell off.. with Luongo still sort of holding on.

And simply pegging a goalie to an age of decline is not always fair... but it does seem that somewhere in their 30s, down they might go.

So... I think you may need to shift Rinne, Luongo, and Miller off this "lock" list. Just too old.
For similar reasons, the 32-year old Mike Smith is probably not on this list.
Lundqvist is the modern Brodeur, and I think he's safe.

Of the "probably" list, I think that one should be shorter:
    Just Bernier, Lehtonen, Howard, IMO.

I wouldn't even call Niemi, Halak, Mason, Hiller, or Pavelec a "probably".
And Khuodbin shouldn't be anywhere near this list yet.
I know his career numbers look mighty fine... but he's still under 60 NHL GP.
He hasn't yet "felt" the pressure of being an annointed #1.

    Good overall list though.

I would add Lehner to the probably list as I think he splits time with Anderson next year and takes over the reins the year after.

I wouldn't put Bishop in the lock category because of Andrei Vasilevski.

I'd have as my locks :

    Price
    Rask
    Quick
    Bobrovski
    Lundqvist
    Luongo
    Schneider
    Rinne
    Fleury

Those at first glance looks like my only sure locks.

Vasilevski is only 19 years old. I think lightning will give him time to adjust to nhl. So Bishop should be good for a couple years if he played like this year. IMO

As you said, Vasilevski shouldn't be a concern for quite a few years. Shouldn't be factored into a fantasy hockey decision right now imo.

    Good list -

I would take out Miller from Locks...

I would add Lehtonen to Locks...

I would take out Khudobin and Pavelec from Maybes...
I would add Lack to Maybes...

I also think that Lehner should be a probable and I do see him taking the reins from Anderson either late next season or the season after. Pavelec I think is close to playing himself out of a job so I would be tempted to put him in the don't know list. Lack, Stalock and Andersen could all be put in the probable list too. I don't have much faith in Hiller or Niemi and Lack does have an opportunity to seize the starter's job in Vancouver.

I would pencil Matt Hackett into the "probably" catagory as well. I think he becomes the starter in Buffalo in the next year, even over Neuvirth.
