Default Peter Mueller to play for Team USA

I'd love to see how he does. The tourney is certainly an upgrade to the current league he's been in and he just played a full, healthy season - and that to me was the important goal.

Let's see if there's any magic left.

Thats what I like to hear, picked him up as free agent in $ league for next year- from tip off boards (thanks guys). Didn't cost me anything and if he signs somewhere then I got him real cheap in pool so he will be protectable.
Now I have some interset following Team USA.

I've had PM on my dark horse list for a while in case he makes an NHL come back attempt. Looks like he didn't get any points in the US's 6-1 win over Belarus to open the tournament. He did have one shot. Not a great start, but then again I wasn't able to see what kind of ice time he had or who he was playing with. I wish him all the luck. He's still young enough at 26 for a NHL comeback - who knows.

would like to keep an eye on him as I picked him up as a F/A just before our deadline, a potential keeper for next year if he signs somewhere, if not no harm - no foul.

I dont care if he leads this tourney in scoring, I wouldn't touch him with a 10' pole.

Because its a tournament and will simply fool people into thinking he is worth looking at again, should he return to the NHL from Europe. People will get excited and think this is finally the Mueller they have been waiting forever for, the former US golden boy. I hate to tell you this but he is still the same player who has had nothing but an injury riddled career.

Is he a skilled player? Of course, but he's also the same guy who drove fantasy GMs nuts by keeping Johnson & Johnsons band-aid division in business for years.

If he stands out in this tourney and somehow manages to find his way back to the NHL, by all means take a big gulp of this tourneys kool-aid. Just excuse me if I take a pass on sipping on it.

In their rookie season, I traded Pat Kane for Mueller and Patrick O'Sullivan in one league - I still have nightmares.

Mueller scorrrrrrrrrres today vs. Swiss. I understand why everyone is skeptical and frankly, that makes sense. But in a deep league, particularly a deep cap league, poolies would be remiss not to keep an eye on guys like Mueller who could (even if it's a 25% chance) get a cheap NHL contract, find a top 6 spot and put up decent numbers.

There are definitely leagues where he could be semi-useful. I can certainly see grabbing him, farming him, and rotating him up to the main roster when he is on a hot streak. Kind of like Eric Fehr.

I hear you, I am thinking if he signs somewhere then there will be hype on him, then it will be time to trade him.

He's clearly a skilled guy. As a last round sleeper, he could have some serious potential. is it likely he hits it? Not a chance, but how many of you wouldn't take him in the last round if he gets a contract from a team like Calgary where he's gonna get top billing time? I know I would.
