Lightbulb Looking for feedback on this possible trade

My team finished this past season 5th out of 10 in our Keeper League. My top PPPG dman is Wisniewski, my top PPPG forward is Backstrom. The owner that won our league offered me Duncan Keith and Patrick Sharp for Ryan Strome and my choice of either Cody Ceci or Jonas Brodin plus I give up 10th overall pick in our 40 pick prospect draft next season. I like the stability and maturity these Blackhawk players will add but hate like heck giving up an important chunk of the future. Comments guys?

    Patrick Sharp!
    Absolutely do this deal.
Sharp has plenty of gas left... as does Keith.

I'd easily part with Strome, Ceci (or Brodin), and your 10th overall pick for those two studs.

    Is there some hitch?
    Salary cap league?
    Triple points for rookies?

    Welcome to the boards!

This is a tough one, how many keepers? Is this a salary Cap League? Will you keep these two guys - as you said they are mature players? Would he take a second round pick or give you a second rounder?

No real hitch in our league. Each team carries total of 32 roster players and unlimited prospect players (having played less than 25 NHL games). 32 roster players include:
    10 to 12 dmen
    15 to 17 forwards
    4 to 5 goalies
    No salary cap
    No premium points for rookies.
I like both Sharp & Keith, hate to lose Strome but I have a lot of young players with good potential but I'm short on immediate help right now. I'm inclined to agree to move Strome & Brodin for Sharp & Keith and see if he'll take 18th overall pick instead of 10th). Thanks for your feedback guys, wish me luck

This trade is a beauty deal. I would not go back and ask for the 18th pick instead of the 10th. I think you risk the deal falling apart. I'd take the deal as is. It's a fantastic trade!!

You mention " Important part of the future"

In fantasy hockey the future you only need to concern yourself with is 3-year windows. Whether your a competitive team or a rebuild. Your goal should be to win within 3 years. Patrick Sharp and Duncan Keith give you plenty of very good production in the next 3 years. You are not " giving up" and important part of the future. In this trade you are acquiring the important part of the future, which again should be looked at in 3 year intervals.

    Good deal!

I would definitely do this deal.

Keep Brodin, trade Ceci, hit accept and run. This is a definite win for you.

Too bad you didn't keep Brodin, he will be better than Ceci, but still a very good deal for you.

i wouldn't have struggled, in fact i would be looking at what the bottom teams in your league have and come up with a way to turn Ceci into another piece that will help you in the short term

Like the deal, will be good for you over the next 3-4 yrs. Also a Strome owner, think it will be at least 2 years for him to crack 50 pts.
You should also be able to replenish your prospects.
With unlimited prospects, hang around Dobber Hockey and you will have all the top prospects on your team.
Better tell your competition about Dobber Hockey to keep the league fair lol
