I need to keep 1 player out of two.
Teravainen or Grigorenko.
Looking to make my move. Not necessarily looking for the future.

Grigerenko has better upside, but plays with nobodys. Is he KHL bound?
Teravainen has better linemates, but probably not as much ice time.
Or....Do I keep both these guys and drop....Atkinson?

Agree keep Tevo. Try and package Grigorenko and say Atkinson ( or whoever) for an upgrade to the keeper player. Grigorenko has some good keeper value for potential so maybe you can find a bite somewhere.Originally Posted by gainerama

I agree with gain and stew. Teravainen for me, as well. Too many question marks and risk with Grigs, and Chicago's got a track record for developing talent.

I like both and its not an easy choice.
Teravainen should get a shot next year but is he still a bit too small to stick with the big club? Do they send him to the AHL to get accustomed to the NHL speed?
Grigorenko will most likely start the year next year in the AHL (finally). He seems to be doing quite well in the AHL and has fit in quickly with the system there. I don't see the KHL as much of a threat with him as many others do. He came to North America to play his Jr hockey because he wants to play in the NHL. Has Buffalo screwed up his progression, yes. I think he gets it going with a stint in the AHL. I think a lot of his future will be told at the draft table and which way Buffalo goes with its draft pick as well.
Right now, I think there is less traffic in front of Teuvo and his chances to jump to Chicago so I would probably go with him, but it's closer then many will give Grigorenko credit for.

Teuvo! Grigs doesn't even have higher upside, it's similar at best with much more risk and much less talent to play with.
