Default Is Derek Roy washed up or does he need a change... again?

Roy is 3 seasons removed from having a decent scoring season and has played for 3 other teams since the leaving the Sabres. He is a healthy scratch tonight in the playoffs. Is he just a poor fit for the Blues and could do better on another team next year? He is UFA this summer and I would be very surprised if he resigns in St.Lo or that the Blues would even want to have him back. But 3 seasons of trending downwards makes me think its more 'him' than a poor fit on past teams.
    Anybody still have faith?

Haha.... ok I'll reframe the question as:
"Who more likely gets a contract next year, Roy or Heatley?"

Ouch, there is no redemption here for Roy either since they'll both get contracts and Heatley could very well still out preform him. I think Roy has fallen off that much.

Patrick Roy has a better chance of a new contract to play, than Heatley. Oh wait, you meant Derek? Definitely Derek over Dany!

Wierd. Seems as if it was just yesterday I was watching that mini player piss me off in Kitchener...piss me off cause he was a Guelph storm Killer. Then piss me off in buffalo...cause I'm a leafs fan. Could this kids career be over already? Too bad. I enjoyed not liking him!

I am more on the line of him needing a better fit then washed up. I think he still has plenty left in the tank and if he can find the right team that is looking for a scoring center (call me crazy but isn't there a lot of teams looking for that?) he should be able to get it going again.

Derek Roy could be a sneaky player next year on a different team.
He only logged 13min/game... but he still has awesome hockey vision & touch.
Really, a young team like Florida could use him as a 2nd line center.

I could also see him ending up in Vancouver if they go and trade Kesler away.

He could get back to 50pts with 16min/game and consistent PP time.
I do not see him touching 60pts again.

Bonus value to Roy in leagues that count FOW and not FO% if he lands a nice role in the summer.

Roy will sign somewhere fairly cheap, so he may have something to prove, depending where he goes. depth player on your fantasy.

22 pts in 30 games for Dallas and was a + player on a mediocre team.

If that is what you consider sucking, I can think of a few teams that will take that type of sucking.

He played a grand total of 12 games in Vancouver so it's hard to say he sucked there when he barely skated for the team.
