Where would you peg the value of Jon Gray in a full keeper with a 10 player farm?

He is a top 20 ranked prospect according to baseball America. Definitely worth a farm spot.

For sure. What about if you're looking to trade him for a roster player is what I should have stated a little more clearly. Specifically looking for a position player. What type of return might one expect? I have a good idea of prospect value in hockey, but I'm not sure how it translates in baseball.

Baseball skills translate quicker than hockey but pitchers are like goalies necessary but risky. I'd equate him to a Third/fourth tier pitcher at this point. No idea what those go for in your league. If be willing to trade a guy like Craig Allen for him. Could also try to cash in a fast start like Dee Gordon for him.

Despite pitching half of his games in Colorado, Gray is one of the guys I would look to acquire in any league with farm team keepers. He has some dirty, dirty stuff.

It's hard to say what major league player you could get for him. I suppose it depends on what kind of major league player your team needs though. A lot of guys will shy away from a prospect for MLB player trade just because prospects are so volatile. Who knows if they'll succeed at the major league level? So maybe try packaging Gray with a lesser MLB guy and see what you get. But if you need pitching.....hold on to him.
