I think pretty clearly the point here is that jcairns thinks Seguin is a "buy". In virtually no circumstances is he a "buy low" unless you see him pacing above 95 or so.

Seguin was being valued as an 80+ point player while he was still in Boston...I'm not sure which 80 point players you could possibly be referring to...there were only 7 players with 80 or more points, Seguin being one of them.......

I even think Seguin now is a tough "buy", period, in any competitive league. As most have mentioned, his value in sky high right now.....in most cases, his perceived value is even higher than his realistic actual value, so you'd have to overpay to get him. In my league, he is now valued as an annual 90 point threat, which puts him in elite company value-wise.......you wouldn't be able to trade for him without paying a very steep price.

IMO the window is closed on Seguin. If you don't already own him, it will be very tough to acquire him for a reasonable price, ie. there is not a lot of value to be gained there in terms of what you would get vs. what you would have to give.

I don't think anybody gets valued that high in the BOS system.

I traded Seguin early like mid November. Traded Seguin for Giroux. I would be happy with either. But that's what Seguins value is. In my league.

Same here. It would take a Giroux-level player to get Seguin in my league. I like Seguin and all, but I'd much rather have Giroux.

Your trade illustrates that in a lot of cases, Seguin could actually be more of a "sell" option (as opposed to a buy option) as his perceived value is insanely high at the moment. If you can capitalize on the hype and his amazing season and land a Giroux, why not?

Jake Gardiner is my "bold" buy-low option for next season. He had a fantastic finish to the season, and gosh knows he's got the upside to put up some serious points. I'd say 45 points isn't out of the question.

At the end of this year, I looked at acquiring Giroux, and that owner wanted Letang/Seguin and a pick.

He shot above his average (slightly) and had 25 PPP (pretty solid on an offensively-starved team).
Dallas is a one-line pony. I think teams will learn to buckle down on Seguin/Benn a little harder than they did this year.
I don't really know where you're headed with this Peng. Their players are developing nicely (Chaisson, Sceviour, Eakin, etc.). Teams already where buckling down on the Seguin/Benn tandem, they are just very good players. Their depth is on the rise, potentially making Seguin/Benn's jobs easier, not harder next year.
