Another who should be my keepers post?

Just finished the season in third place, which all told wasn't bad considering the injury trouble and goal tending problems I had this season. In the money at least.

The major injuries I ran into late in the season meant I had a full IR and a bloated roster at the end of the season, so picking my keepers isn't as easy as last year. In our format we keep 16 guys - generally 9 forwards, 6 defense and 1 goalie since that;s what we start.

So under this point system (G=1pt, A=1pt, PIM=0.2Pt, GWG=1pt) I need to keep nine of these forwards

At least five are no-brainers I think (Malkin, Getzlaf, Hartnell, Nash, Kesler), but the other four are tougher. Will Iginla and Elias keep it up next season? Are Maroon and Rousel ready to take the next step and become the next Steve Downie under our system? Can Steve Downie be Steve Downie again?

On defense I need to keep six from...

A few tough ones here too. Where Boyle and Niskanen end up signing could make them a keeper or a drop. Timonen could retire and so could Visnovsky after he late season concussion problems.

Goalies are Howard and Schneider - We only count wins and shutouts so it's likely Howard here.

I think the Howard vs Schneider is closer than you think, I like the Wings more for the W's but Schneider is the better goalie and likely to get more starts, may actually edge him here.

I'm not sure on Howard vs. Schneider.
I think Detroit is a better team, and see Howard getting 55-60 starts and only 2-3 SO... but I could also see DET bringing in a veteran back-up next year.
New Jersey isn't nearly as good, but I can see Schneider getting 65-70 starts and 5-6 SO.

I also have a long-term vision that Schneider plays out his last year in NJ (next year) and signs a huge contract with MIN after that - he'll be UFA!
